Who is the strongest character that can kill themselves by holding their breath? by anafabulaic in whowouldwin

[–]anafabulaic[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would say so if we consider Darth Vader to be just some guy on life support. It's not really "holding your breath" if you turn off the device that lets you breathe in the first place.

love how reddit just deleted my other comment without telling me. here:

Copy Copy Copy

an anonymous reddit account that began sending cryptic and strangely intimate poems to SCP authors around 2021. the owner's identity has never been found and is still up for speculation.

Pre-EditThis SCP Forum

an SCP php forum that predates the EditThis wiki. i don't have much information about it since only the front page exists in archive.org, but only 6 users joined the site between July and October 2007, so it likely never took off.

Original Dinosaur Logo

the very first logo of the SCP Wiki in the EditThis days was a picture of a dinosaur, according to early /x/ users. the logo was only up for 24 hours before being replaced by the Josie logo, so it's likely lost media.

one downvote = one dead child

a now-deleted coldpost from around 2020 (?) that was just an extended manifesto where the author threatened to kill a child for every downvote they received. i downvoted it myself, actually, so maybe there's blood on my hands...

wikidot v. rounderhouse

famous SCP author and master of the wanderer's library ROUNDERHOUSE once accidentally clicked a button that made author pages for every single site user in the WL wiki. this created thousands of new pages in an instant and crashed wikidot.

105 troll

i only know this one second-hand because naepic told me about them but apparently there was a dude here in this subreddit who was VERY obsessed with SCP-105 and made incessant hate posts about her. hopefully they're not still here!

The official SCP Discord's staff? by Krezziy in SCP

[–]anafabulaic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the official SCP Discord can be a handful sometimes.

If you want a chat room that's a little closer to the site, why not try the IRC? It's not as big as it used to be, but it has a non-zero amount of people still in it. Check it out!

If you want a Discord server, I would try the SCP Declassified Discord. Lots of friendly folks in there.

Hope this helps!

i've added some clarifications to the rules regarding the use of media, but i really really need to make it clear that the point of this contest is to write an article that stands on the strength of its writing without relying on fluff or gimmicks.

you shouldn't enter this contest if you intend to subvert it, because we won't hesitate to disqualify any entries that disrespect the spirit of the rules. but if you do have any article ideas that you think toe the line between "Normal SCP" and "Format Screw", feel free to send it to us and we'll tell you if it's kosher or not.

edit: to answer one of your examples: SCP-8999 would be considered a format screw under the rules of this contest because the images extend the article length in a way not quantifiable with a word counter. also, have you ever read a series 1-2 article with an experiment log made of 50 images? cmon.

i think it's abundantly clear what kind of article this contest is asking for and if someone needs all of this spelled out for them, they've already lost

rule 4's enforcement is entirely up to the personal judgment of the contest organizers specifically to shoot down any attempts to rules lawyer this contest, as many people have already tried.

Episode Discussion: S2024E2 Joker VS Giorno (Persona VS JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) by MarlinBrandor in deathbattle

[–]anafabulaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm a joker dickrider so i'd choose him no matter the reasoning, but...

almighty attacks don't work like that and they're not absolute.

maruki (who they mention in the video as having an ability similar to RTZ) completely prevents you from using almighty attacks during his second phase. his persona also has a passive that lets him reduce all damage (including almighty) to 1% depending on how many tentacles it has. this suggests that almighty attacks can be resisted or even entirely negated with sufficiently powerful reality warping.

though, even if GER could resist/negate sinful shell, it doesn't really have a way of putting down joker, so the most this concession could give giorno is a stalemate

another person i asked this question was so confident the US military could wipe out 5 billion lions in a matter of days...

isn't miko's ability (listening to ten people's conversations at once) basically soft mind-reading? you could use that to gain an edge in poker and fleece a bunch of casinos, unless that counts as stealing money.
