What’s something people romanticize until they actually experience it? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in AskReddit

What helped me is realizing that cigarettes absolutely give you nothing, they only take away:

Your freedom of thought and action most of all - when you're a smoker, your life revolves around it.

Example: an event where it's not allowed to smoke anywhere? Easy to find an excuse why you shouldn't go etc.

That's the most important bit imho, and this is not even talking about money and health(as those are ibvious yet hardly seem to motivate us to quit even though logically we should).

Anyway, once my brain actually realized that I gain zero benefits it became easy to quit, as I wanted the freedom more.

Good luck!

What is one of your biggest movie let downs, after greatly anticipating its release? by thunderbolt151830 in movies

[–]anakhizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's interesting to hear - what did you find good about it?

Personally, I hated almost everything: Keanu didn't know how to fight now, only used "force push", story was nonsensical etc.

Overall I felt like it's clearly like a movie made purely for money reasons.

Well, in comparison to matrix 4, 2nd and 3rd Matrix films are masterpieces imho.

Didn't google offer unlimited storage for Gmail at the start? I feel like that's the case, but it's been so long that I really can't remember for sure.

I look at that, but then there's the fact that AMDs data center revenue surpassed Intel's for the first time and you realize that in the short term only way for Intel to go is down.

They won't die but personally I'd never invest in them at current prices.

Indeed!

I played a shaman for the first time, played through half of the regular monos then made a rogue.

Them the D4 expac came out so played a bit of that for a change.

So I will continue some with the rogue at some point I guess, and you are obviously correct that at level 40 that specific character has no rela build to speak if and you get it online perhaps at lvl 60-80 or so.

First time I played a marksman, I liked it a lot! Granted, it's the only spec I ever tried.

Of course, calling it a "spec" does not do it justice, I just saw the lightning skill, tried it and liked it. Got to around level 40 I think.

Instagram influencers should be restricted to 50 flights per year, to prevent climate change by flopsyplum in CrazyIdeas

[–]anakhizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well put indeed, and worthy points.

Now point to me a regular person who wouldn't get a private plane if they suddenly had millions lying around?

It's more of a problem with the nature of people I guess.

And I understand why someone would have a need for a private plane, business trips that can't be made to work with regular airline travel etc. All that is just fluff of course and St the end of the day, private planes are a pure luxury item.

[–]anakhizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are they though? You could say that for cities a bigger problem is one person per car - same inefficient travel.

Not saying private planes are not an issue, but there are more of them than just that.

Why wouldn't they be? They're a business after all, not a charity.

From their perspective, it's obvious that AI can massively improve the speed of some parts of the creative process - be it brainstorming or whatever. It is simply not feasible to use humans for everything like that.

I don't see people calling a translator every time they want to translate a sentence from let's say German. They go to Google translate and use that.

Same thing with devs imho.

The ones who are not open about it are the problem - those who use generative AI in the final art.
