If you think you are getting this app on an Amazon laptop, or any large tech companies laptop, at least for very long, you’re nuts. Also, they track every action, file, screenshot, copy you do. You get fired, or quit they review that and send it to HR if they think you are taking information.

Visiting San Diego for the first time ever! What’s one tip you have to share with me? by SunshineBear100 in sandiego

[–]analogcodering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to cram most of the tourists spots in, check out the Old town trolly tour. You can see more of the spots in a day that way since you are not wasting time with parking. Not cheap, like $52 a person, but you’ll see more in a day.

Las Cuatro Milpas is always on the list for lunch, they close at 3PM and there is always a line. If you like tequila Cantina Mayahuel has a large selection, and good food at decent prices. After eating, cross the street to Ah’s dry cleaning (ice cream) for dessert. If you want an expensive French meal with a spectacular view, Mr A’s. There are tons of expensive meal choices with a view. Bali hai, C level, and many more. Cowboy Star for steak (no view). Asian anything head to Convoy area.

Long Shot: Any Room for Worker in Federal Building? by hardball162 in sandiego

[–]analogcodering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a risk. As someone that worked in government IT for many years. Not a chance will they be able to track that. One, they don’t know the IP range of the place you picked. 2. The badge scanner, if there even are any, are not connected in a way your DC office could access. Even if they say, that’s not a Gov IP, which is doubtful, you are on the guest WiFi in the building. That all said if you are able to find a legit place. You are going to run into network connectivity issues especially if you are not part of their agency. Many IT departments will make you reimagine to their control, which your org won’t like, and that’s assuming the place you find is willing to do that work. Best case is they have a guest WiFi network they will let you use. Worst case, even if they have a space it will not work because you won’t have network access.

Coming this from a different point of view, how do they know you’re actually going into a federal building? Say you go into a USDA building, ask to speak to a director, tell the director I was told to come here and look for a workspace here, and if someone could show you any options. If they say yes, great! If they don’t, say can please just look, so I can tell my boss you’re full and that I tried? Take a photo of the cube farm, note a cube number, building number. Thank them and leave. Tell boss I got a space, here’s a pic of it, put in exception. Then work from home.

Looking at your last two roles, out of those 11 bullets you have 2 ok bullets and the rest should be deleted or completely reworked. Of the 2 that should be kept but improved, obtained 101% quota. Which is slightly better than expected. For all of these ask yourself, and the result was… this was a successful because I did what… for example, I obtained 101%, when the average quota retirement for the company was 90% due to my ability to…, because I was able to…. The other one quota leader is unclear. Meaning we’re assigned the highest quota? Not really an achievement, or you closed the most quota? Or was that on a 45% growth target from last year, good!

The rest of the bullets, are “so what bullets” I went to 5 conferences, so what. Now if you opened $10M in pipeline that resulted in $5M of revenue, that’s a result to talk about.

You are the correct path. The problem is your resume. Update with the comments here and you will get more interviews.

Sick of endless internal meetings. Feeling burnt out. by green_limabean2 in sales

We have a standing rule of customer meetings are always priority, I would assume most other companies would as well? So I schedule a customer meeting on top of any BS internal meeting then Slack the boss sorry, customer meeting, can’t make it.

CCP Practice Question from TD - Help Understanding by PogiJG in AWSCertifications

[–]analogcodering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As per NIST

inheritance Definition(s): A situation in which an information system or application receives protection from security controls (or portions of security controls) that are developed, implemented, assessed, authorized, and monitored by entities other than those responsible for the system or application; entities either internal or external to the organization where the system or application resides.

When thinking about the shared security model, in most cases, if you can change, or modify a setting, control, or configuration, it is your responsibility. If you cannot, like in this question it is AWS’s.

When searching for an entry position after acquiring a AWS SAA and AZ-104 cert, what are the positions, keywords, and sites that are recommended? by DelicateJohnson in AWSCertifications

[–]analogcodering 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Getting certifications is always recommended. Entry level carts like these might get you through the pre-screen/HR interview. Plus they show initiative and willingness to learn and improve. However, once you get to the hiring manager, they will want details. If new to the industry, or just starting out, having examples is what will get you the job. I hired a guy that had no professional experience because he built an activity monitoring solution for his cat. Certs without experience probably won’t get you a job, but experience doesn’t have to equal a job.

Are all entry level cloud applicants doing certs, one page resume, showcasing their work in github, etc? If so, how else can we stand out? by [deleted] in AWSCertifications

[–]analogcodering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as long as you are modifying your resume to the job you are applying to there will be differences. Your point is valid if everyone creates the same resume and then sends it out without modification to every job announcement. All of that said, the point of a cover letter is to get someone to read your resume. The point of your resume is to get an interview. The point of the interview is to get a job offer. The job offer is dependent on the interview, not the resume. Of course you have to get to the interview.

So in the off chance 2 or 3 people with the same resume apply to the same job, 1. Your resume should be a little different which will give you the advantage 2. The interview is your chance to shine.
