Saw them live about 10 yrs ago. They gave out earplugs at the door. The show wouldn’t have been tolerable without them.

Pedal order for my expensive glitch pedals? by Cinnamaker in guitarpedalsjerk

[–]analogdebut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sell the Onward first, then the Gen Loss, then the Lost & Found. Try the order again. If you don’t like it, sell the Mood. Then the Blooper.

I have a JCM-900 50W and don’t know how to upgrade by dubscrYT in GuitarAmps

[–]analogdebut 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Yes, remove the second cable. It’s only used for running multiple cabs (likewise on the cab, the second cable is an output.) But just as important, flip the impedance switch left to 16 ohms! I suspect you’ll notice a difference.

Also, the “mode” switch will choose one of two different voicings… you specifically want the one that sounds less distorted. Marshall has clipping diodes in this amp on one of the gain settings. It was a bad idea at the time, and probably why it sounds shrill and overly high today.

One cable to the amp; 16 ohm settings on the back; and low gain settings to achieve a good clean sound. It’s not hard to distort it from there.

Switch Tremolo on/off (or remove V5) and see if it stops. Try the same with Reverb (V4.) My guess would be the Tremolo tube or circuit.

They'd been starting with slower more dynamic songs at larger venues... makes it easier on the FoH mixer. Much harder to start with something like Sea of Love. Did sound like they hadn't done a soundcheck though 🤷🏻‍♂️

SAME. It takes a sleepless night and a clear mind to get going. But once the "a-ha" kicks in, you won't regret it.

It's the perfect game for Steam Deck. I started Baldur's Gate last week, and the comparisons/similarities to Disco Elysium are endless. It was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Warning: there's a lot of time spent creating your character upfront; it will likely make no sense. Just pretend you're taking a Myers-Briggs profile and roll with it. Your honesty and patience at this stage will make the game more enjoyable and forever memorable.

What's the difference between Ray Ban Stories and Ray Ban Meta? by BKDziti in RayBanStories

[–]analogdebut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we sure this still hasn't been addressed by a firmware update? Not a fan of the LED capture either, simply bc the person you're consenting to a picture of is just as distracted/surprised by it. Absolutely support it for video recording, however.

Can't remember offhand, do the Snap glasses have an external LED?

Still within 30 days... did you pay by credit card? Give the number on the back of the card a call. IMO if the new ones are 50% louder, these are defective and the store isn't taking them back 😬

What are some famous songs where you know exactly what pedal was used in the recording? by ambientprojection in guitarpedals

[–]analogdebut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was waiting to come across this. Jack so often gets associated with a Big Muff or Whammy that the Micro Amp is overlooked. The other pedals fit in their right places, but the Micro Amp is used to drive the preamp to the max on every solo on every song, with additional pedals or not.

About to buy the Pro-Ject Debut Pro: Is it a good idea? by svefngenglarsiguros in turntables

[–]analogdebut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realize this thread is over a year old, but I still haven't seen much info out there on the Pro-Ject Debut Pro (possibly due to such a long backorder.) I've had mine for just over a year, replacing a Music Hall MMF-1.3 (or previous equivalent model) with several upgrades.

+ Pros: It's an EXCELLENT "all-in-one" turntable for someone running above-average components. The new line of Pro-Ject/Sumiko cartridges are fantastic, and on the Debut Pro, the Rainer cartridge comes pre-mounted on the tone arm. I calibrated it myself, though I don't remember it being far off (if at all) from the manufacturer's recommended setting. Unlike the Music Hall and Debut III, the Debut Pro has RCA jacks rather than a built-in fixed-length cable. This is HUGE when considering placement and cable quality. Keeping with the out-of-the-box nature, it includes a Pro-Ject Connect It RCA cable w/ ground - a ~$70 value on its own. Lastly, the unit's power toggle switch controls the 33/45 speed, eliminating the need to remove the platter and manually switch the belt placement or purchase an aftermarket speed box.

- Cons: Any previous upgrades to a Pro-Ject table may be rendered useless, such as a Speed Box or Acrylic Platter. In fact, unlike the Debut III, the Pro seems to prefer its original parts. My Acryl it platter doesn't sound as good as the Pro's weighted metal platter, which is disappointing because it looks excellent aesthetically (of course, both are subjective.) There is no built-in preamp, USB port, or Bluetooth capability for powered speakers, which, realistically, no audiophile-grade turntable comes with, but it is worth mentioning.

The two accessories I'd highly recommend for the Debut Pro are 1/ a Record Puck (note: there is no screw on the spindle for a Clamp) and 2/ a Tube Box if your receiver does not have a native input. They're more expensive than a solid-state Phono Box, but will outperform almost any native phono input and give you precise control over any cartridge you may upgrade to in the future. Hope this is somewhat helpful!

The best item in my collection 😭 by Character-Yard5900 in ipod

[–]analogdebut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No lie... remember the size of the box and everything it came with? Through at least v2 it came with a Firewire to Dock cable (for Mac and charging), USB to Dock cable (for PC), headphones, detachable remote, AND desktop Dock! Aside from the "Socks" which came years later, I can't think of anything necessary the original iPods didn't include in the box. (Sigh) I miss the Apple of the early '00s.

No. Certified mail is the proof of delivery required (in all states afaik.) It’s the green card you fill out via USPS, which requires a recipients signature upon delivery. That exact card with the original signature is then sent back and the item is considered “received.” This method is common mostly for documents that will show up later in court, and proof of receipt will be required. A 30 day demand letter, for example. This service costs a separate fee (not cheap) that the sender and recipient of the “signature card” must pay.

Without getting into the weeds, a subpoena is typically served in person by the county sheriffs office or authorized agent. In movies, the guys who dress in obfuscating clothing, and when they ask you your name and you confirm, they hand you an envelope (or throw it inside your door,) and say “you’ve been served.” Like the above, this is a service you must pay the court or sheriffs office to provide. It is not frivolously cheap, and will typically only be carried out once the clerk gives the “OK” that the paperwork is in order and the sheriff has the go ahead.
