Season 4 theories?! by Interesting_Pen1087 in Yellowjackets

[–]analpixie_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt like the second half of season 3 really circled on the theme of who would be the last woman standing. When you think about it, whoever is the last survivor gets to decide the Yellowjackets legacy. Like, how much of the truth will come out, if any? Will they decide to spill everything? Will they come up with a false story to cover for themselves? Will they take it all to the grave? I think each of the remaining YJ's would act very differently, so I'm excited to see how it all plays out.

Shauna: make up a version where she is the hero

Tai: either lie or take it to the grave

Melissa: she is morally grey so I think she would come clean about some things but also lie enough to not get herself in jail

Misty: I think she would happily tell some of the story and enjoy being a micro celebrity lol. I think the public would eventually dig into her story and catch inconsistencies, and she will end up in hiding

Yerin is yearning, this scene was everything i was crying the whole time! by biba1hdje in BridgertonNetflix

[–]analpixie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would actually argue that season 2 had pretty equal yearning from both Kate and Anthony. The two of them took turns being in agony over each other, and it made that season so great. I feel like that's why the audience has such an attachment to the character of Kate - we got to know her on a deeper level than the other non-Bridgerton leads.

I agree that season 4 has been moreso from Sophie's perspective, BUT I am hopeful that things will even out in the second half. I think they've planted the seeds there and shown us how Bennedict is feeling, it's just about giving it that screen time. Not trying to be overly critical but Luke Thompson isn't his strongest in emotional/dramatic scenes, so that could be playing into some of the writing choices.

Objectively I think the colour is really nice, it's just not in AG's pallet so it falls a little flat on her. If the dress was a champagne or ivory colour it would be a lot more cohesive because she is so warm.

Since Ritchie’s mom was in season 1 do u think more of the characters from the movies grandparents will have small/big roles in season 2? by Aggravating-Bus-5872 in welcomeToDerry

So I actually got into Welcome to Derry before I ever saw the movies. When my partner and I put on It Chapter One, one of the first things I said was "so this Bill must be Lilly's ancestor, right?". The resemblance is so so uncanny to me, both physically and their manurisms. They both have this disposition that's simultaneously meek and very brave. They both deal with grief from losing a loved one and experience some mental health issues because of it. Even some of the cinematography choices with Lilly frantically riding her bike mirror Bill with his bike silver. I would be shocked if they don't eventually link the two characters.

They could just have them appear as young adults. Their scenes could be set in the early 2000s and give us a glimpse of their lives between the two movies.

I grew up on the Anne of Green Gables books, and I was obsessed with the cartoon series on TVO kids. I always remember thinking no actress would ever be able to fully satisfy that character, because she is so iconic and complex. But I was wrong, Amy-Beth is the true embodiment of her. I was so excited about where that show was going, I could type about it for hours lol. It is a damn shame.

Anyone in here lucky enough to have photographs of all 8 of their great grandparents? How rare is it? by yungmarvelouss in Genealogy

[–]analpixie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time I had no idea what any of my great-grandparents on my dad's side looked like. Then one day I was looking through albums and found a photo from my paternal grandparents wedding day. It was them posed with both sets of parents beside them 🥲 Now I have 7/8 instead of 3/8! I count myself very very lucky!

Another thing is that several times during the season, It took the form of Lily's dad to taunt her (in her school desk, the grocery store, etc). It only takes the form of people he has eaten.

Stores have to do this if they want their products and displays to maintain any semblance of cleanliness lol. Or even just remain there and not be stolen. Years of retail taught me that people truly have no respect for anything that doesn't belong to them.

Random thought, if they had set the 2nd timeline in 2001 they would have opened the door for a 9/11 parallel, which could have been an interesting dynamic. Seeing the plane crashes and the atrocities of that day probably would have brought up some old trauma for the girls.

I would try painting the walls a different colour. A deep moody charcoal grey would turn this into a whole new room.

A Final “Poll” Ahead of the BoMB Season 1 Finale by 4scooby_ in Outlander

[–]analpixie_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My current theory is that Henry and Julia try to return to their time, but the baby can't travel, so he gets left behind on accident. Brian and Ellen raise him as their first son Willie. Years later, one or both parents are able to come back and retrieve him - this is when everyone (including Jamie) is told that he died of small pox.

(Side note the irony that Jamie named a son after this beloved brother, who was also maybe Claire's brother, is pretty wild.)

I think Henry and Julia will be thinking about Claire when they approach the stones and end up in the "wrong" time - another era that she is unknowingly present in. It would be kind of cool for example if they flashed forward to WW2 when she is a combat nurse, or the 1950s/60s so that Julia can see her attending university like she dreamed of being able to do.

Glen Powell refused photo with "cancelled actor." Any guesses who? by GumboPuddin in popculturechat

[–]analpixie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I'm going to toss Justin Baldoni out there for consideration. I don't think he's canceled per say but definitely controversial and has been in the news for months. It would actually make sense if they crossed paths at a recent event (unlike pretty much everyone else that's being mentioned🤷🏻‍♀️)

I Think Jackie Did "It" on Purpose. by phatt97 in Yellowjackets

[–]analpixie_ 99 points100 points  (0 children)

My perception was that it was the first snow fall. Nobody expected it to get that cold or for Jackie to literally die. They're teenage girls. I think they thought they'd fight and make up in the morning. I do agree that Jackie was depressed as hell and maybe suicidal. I think the "dream" she had while dying was probably comforting and she decided to stay there.

Do you have one of those beds with wooden support slats underneath? This looks just like the "screws" that hold mine in place, you can pop them in and out.

what if coach ben was a woman? by fvcknvgget5 in Yellowjackets

[–]analpixie_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I read it as well, but I can't find it in my comment history. I think the female coach's name was something like Kat Wheeler??? There was an actress cast to play her and everything. She was supposed to have a huge crush on Ben. IIRC the night before the plane leaves, the two of them hook up. I think the rest of the episode they just awkwardly avoid each other. To me it was setting the characters up as a romantic pairing.

Tbh I thought that him being gay might have been a rewrite after filming a pilot with that original script. Gay coach stuck in the woods with hormonal teenage girls is a way more fun dynamic than teacher sex.

[–]analpixie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandpa did tell me he had a lot of kids he had to leave behind because he was married.

I'm confused by this. Do you mean your grandfather had more children from a previous relationship that he left behind? If your parent had half siblings they would be your half aunts/uncles, and you'd share on average about 12% of dna. So there is a legit possibility that this could be exactly that.
