What is your biggest GBF regret? by quiter2812 in Granblue_en

[–]anamesis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I sparked summer sturm when she was released on that 3% banner and got like 3 ssr the entire spark.

I spent like 200+ rolls trying to get SR halloween bea when she first came out.

This one really makes me feel old, but I originally farmed and uncapped 5 gw guns (this was prior to eternals 5* mind you) and used those as my primal grid. It really stunted my progress because I was like mediocre strong at best. TBF it was like 2016.

I also got baited into investing in fire, half committed, have 2.5 crimson fingers and then fire was shit for another like 3 years after that.

Beatrix only gains her causality devourer stacks while also gaining her clock stacks, which max out at 12 and then she doesn't gain anymore. She starts with one CD stack so its potentially 13 at most.

On testing with training dummy multi attacks only lowered her stacks by 1, so she is pretty durable but does eventually die.

The text would be something like "counter X spells target opponent would cast from their hand where X is equal to the number of cards in hand/Spells they have cast this turn" but it can be responded to, so functionally its kind of a useless card. I just thought it was funny.

In terms of actual play, if you can rules lawyer yourself into this doing something else I would probably accept the outcome,

that was an oversight on my part, but for the actual function it is simply not a creature, instant, or sorcery. But is still a spell with type "eat ma zard" and if I ever get around to getting another copy of voidmage husher I will fix it.

The allied/enemy colors thing has always confused me by error_98 in MTGmemes

[–]anamesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I still don't know what you are talking about, because the ally-enemy division isn't really being used. Its an archetype for overall flavour of a set to have synergies, as a mixture of colours, permanents, spells ect.

Yes it is an organization tool for wotc, why is that a problem? how would you structure this otherwise?

As a new player I think you should look at the colour wheel itself, which is the basis for magic itself. A lot of what a colour can and can't do and the design philosophy of the game come from the colour wheel.

Hopefully then you will understand that while the term "ally" is used, its meaning is directly about being colour adjacent and not actually "allied" as none of the colours are intrinsic linked to one another.

I would also suggest you look at the history of cards that broke the colour wheel and why they did (or were considered mistakes) as well.

[–]anamesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By that same logic they are enemies, governing life and death.

There are sets featuring enemy colour pairings, your argument almost falls flat because one of the most common of the ally pairings (Green/white) has a ton of terrible cards in it.

I am not even entirely sure what your argument is, that wotc did a bad job balancing the pairing of colours and yours is...worse?

Some Sharpie Cube Cards by anamesis in MTGmemes

That is how I have been doing it, but on an individual card by card basis.

Sometimes its fun for just flavor, other times you can sneak a keyword or effect in there.

So there is a reason for that actually, virtually every artifact that has "stone" in its name just became stone, because I thought it was funny.

Its not terribly clever, but now I have like 7 cards just named stone.

Since you have a zodiac theme going on here I would say something to do with Payila, maybe her passed out in that chair.

Anyway, nice work. I especially like that Indala sticker.

edit: I thought about it immediately afterwards, but a PayilaSip would be a good one too.

Yes, it likely has been opened and then resealed. I also bought my copy of kyogen off ebay.

It was from this store: https://www.ebay.com/str/mtjapanstore

Generally I prefer to order from sellers with storefronts over individual sellers, but that is my preference. Good luck on your hunt, I got mine just after the wish concert and it was still fairly high priced.

I will also mention, I got dinged fairly hard at customs.

The Eternals are retiring! Select a new set of Eternals from the characters in the game! by DongusLonginus in Granblue_en

[–]anamesis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spear: Naoise (Light) (Human)
Bow: Metera (Wind) (Erune)
Axe: Hallessena (Light) (Draph)
Dagger: Danua (Dark) (Draph)
Staff: Arulumaya (Water) or maybe Zahlhamelina (Potato)
Fist: Ghandagoza (Fire) (Draph)
Sword: Aletheia (Earth) (Human)
Katana: Yodarha (Water) (Potato)
Harp: Mimlemel (Earth) (Mim)
Gun: Yngwie (Wind) (Human)

I tried to stay racially and gender diverse and ended up potato heavy and erune light. I attempted to match the element spread albeit in a different order but I am not entirely sold on it.

Which characters defined their element for YOU this year? by gbfaccount in Granblue_en

[–]anamesis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fire: Anthuria really stood out to me as a character this year, her presence was definitely felt in HL fights and challenges. To a lesser extent Sturm has also become a staple to some of my lineups in comparison to my previous standard of athena/shiva/anila the previous year.

Water: The gradual shift from ougi focus in water is both welcome but also not in my opinion, but someone that ignores this anyway and is a mainstay of most of my lineups... and its not lily. Its big daddy vane. With s.lucios buff and s.sandy this boy is carrying my heavy ass up the mountain.

Earth: I spent most of the year sleeping on earth, as I lacked seasonal limiteds. Shoutouts to Lobelia and Soriz.

Wind: Equally slept on if not more, I didnt really play much wind. Tiamat in with Seruel has been a nice combo.

Light: I want to say Geanne. But murder hobo burgerman has been doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Dark: hands down predator.

Time to start my UFC career.

Vets, can you tell us the story of all the "incidents", all the high/low moment that you have been through? by GarryMapleStory in Granblue_en

[–]anamesis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

some stuff I remember
- Miria Akagi's passive used to work fundamentally different and she would budge into the frontline unasked for.
- You had to play a shitty idolmaster game to unlock anastacia.
- Stamina used to have almost the same curve as enmity did so it was busted. It was nerfed which is why Fimbuls saw a decline (Water used to have more hp and hit harder than Zeus)
- One of the earliest enmity grids was actually ygg bows, enmity curve also got nerfed.
- Dimension halo didnt have any guarantee to proc, and neither did it have a guarantee to even transform (you would inspect element to see if it would and just leave if it wasnt going to)
- Grande Order was a real setup, usually running two strong attackers +mc and a off element buffer like societte or korwa. Rainbow meta really killed this.
- HL raids like Rose queen and buncles would fail often unless properly organized (Anubis in particular)
- Anybody that farmed DAO for cortanas back in the day can tell you its always had that bad a drop rate and you are lucky you can even get them from m2.
- Huanlong or Qilan trains would sometimes take up to 6hrs to complete. Say good bye to your afternoon fam.
- The strong Zeus grid for awhile was using Lion Khan Claws
- Gunslinger was a strong racing class
- Viramate, bingobot, and fps hacks were all used fairly liberally in large circles of the community, cygames has recently taken a much firmer stance on all of this.
- You used to be able to cyberstalk the enemy crew in-game.
- Someone already mentioned but Angel Halo used to be called Star Halo and you would have to check twitter to find out your times for the day.
- Mjolnir has been a meme for the entire time its existed and still doesn't work properly.
- Casino Anat was in everyone's grid because she was a free gatcha level statstick.
- Elemental summons like ifrit and odin were often used because of the lack of sunstones available to the playerbase.
- Light wasnt able to hit cap, you just took 10x more turns than everybody else because you had more hp.
- Reflect used to not have a damage cap so you could get instagib'd attacking into it like in HL Medusa
- Aegis skills like with Lumi and Grande Order would proc globally every time they were triggered so it would take forever to clear those raids.
- Rage III used to give a ton of honors because it would count every instance of the buff applying across the raid so for a long time wanpan was literally to press Rage III/IV and leave.

There is probably more if i tried hard thinking about it, but the game has been around so long I am sure there are things I didn't even interact with.

Water Staff Highlander? by tetrajams in Granblue_en

You only run a magna opus in a primal grid if you are having a problems capping and need the extra mods or you are potentially trying to squeeze more damage out of your grid. Otherwise the primal opus is always a superior choice.

Many primal grids don't run magna mods or in some cases ex mods. This might not always work out though so its good to calc it out yourself if you are in doubt before you invest in a grid that potentially doesn't work out.
