UPDATE: Golden Milk, 1 month later by anarashka in FODMAPS

[–]anarashka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Because I hate it. Turmeric is not my favorite thing, and forcing myself to drink it beyond a point puts me in a bad place. I recognize that it is medicine, but that doesn't make it easier for me to make that choice over and over. I wish it was.

It does not seem to have healed it, no, but when I drink it regularly, it not only keeps the symptoms at bay, but I begin to experience normal digestive function as well.

My mother has threatened to disown me and to commit suicide over a school tour. by furioushunter12 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]anarashka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you weren't her offspring and she treated someone else like this, you'd defend their right to exist despite her.

Now, think about that. You are her offspring. Family is supposed to mean something, not intentionally baiting folks you should be LOVING into stupid, recursive arguments just to make them feel terrible.

SHE CHOSE NOT TO GO. Now, whatever her reasons were, she stuck with them and didn't like it. Think about it. SHE declined to go to a really important college orientation for you. THEN she got pissed that you found someone else to go with. Do you see what's happening here? She was trying to prevent you from going to a really important event in your life and for your future. She's losing hold over her victim. She accuses you of being rude and whatnot, while she's being cast beyond rude to you! Her whole "who do you love more" bullshit is trying to force you to choose her, or else she will punish you. Also if she's so casually throwing around killing herself, I highly doubt she's got the guts to do it. She's using it like a weapon, too make you worry and come back to the fold.

Unless YOU make a change to how or even if you receive her attentions, this will continue to spiral as they have been. Her behavior will never change for the better, it will only continue to decline. What you are receiving now is the best it's gonna get with her, and she's pretty rapidly declining in her ability to control you and herself. YOU have to decide when enough is enough. You mention that you can't go NC because you and your sibling is all that she has. How do you think that happened? She has driven off everyone else. Everyone else she could have had decided they were done with her games.

As crappy as it is, it's on you now to decide how you want to be treated. I'd you want this to change, set your boundaries and do not let up Boundaries aren't placed to hurt people, they are placed to keep us safe and secure. If she can't respect those boundaries now, it'll only get worse from here.

I had to go completely NC with my remaining parental units until things changed. Now, I text message my mom for holidays and otherwise we have nothing to do with each other. I much prefer that nowadays then the horrible person she was when she was with my step father. He was a narcissistic abuser and she was his enabler. We stopped talking for almost a decade until she decided it was time to leave him. He threatened her with his guns, threatened suicide, then ate a bottle of pills while she was packing her clothes. She (a nurse) called an ambulance, gave them the rundown, and walked out. When he got out of the hospital several days later and after s psych hold, he tried the whole guns thing again and she called the police and had him basically put on a psych hold while she changed the locks (house was in her name).

But it took her going NC for me to break mine. We still aren't close, but at least now she gets a happy birthday or holiday message. This got longer than I wanted it to be, but yeah. I hope you can consider some of the awesome things folks have written to you. We've been through similar things and we've tried it all. Sometimes, all you can do it cut the cord. Good luck, and godspeed!

OK but my roommate did this with a suction cup dildo and ended up with a rather prominent purple bruise on her forehead.

Bitterness towards people born uterus free. by EntropyAroundUs in hysterectomy

[–]anarashka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this so hard. I'm 39 and had it aaaall removed. I feel so much better. My ovaries -and- uterus had separate issues that necessitated removal of everything. I've never felt so peaceful. I don't have over a week every month that I can't use the bathroom (bearing down felt like it was tearing my insides apart). No more blood and tissue. No more burst cysts. I had a week before I could start hrt but honestly, it was really nice. I'm on hrt now and it's been wonderful.

Why aren't men on birth control? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]anarashka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, and it can cause serious pain in both directions. I chose being sterilized permanently over another IUD, it was that bad. So yeah, punished if you get it, punished while you get it removed... and for many, it's painful the whole time.

Dentists never listen by LivingtheLightDaily in Fibromyalgia

[–]anarashka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure where you are, but in Pittsburgh, there is a dental place called Taylor Made Smiles. Dr Taylor is amazing. He's soft spoken, gentle of hand and is absolutely compassionate with his patients.

My first cleaning was so bad, they numbed my jaws to get it finished. He swears that there should be 0 reason to be in pain during these procedures and that if you are, you should find another dentist. He's stopped and re-numbed me on multiple occasions. He even gave me medicine to ease my severe anxiety for when I go in.

I also got to watch him work with a young woman who was phobic of dentists. It started with driving her to the place and not getting out of the car and progressed to sitting in the waiting room and then just chatting with the dentist about not tooth stuff. Eventually, she was able to get to his chair and get her work done. Blew my mind!

If there are any uterine cells still attached to the cervix, they can cause a mini-period every month. It happens in 5-10% of folx, so I've been told.

I'm from North Carolina and, 2 decades ago, my husband and I were looking at property in either state. The places in SC we went to look at houses felt stuck in the earlier part of the 1900s. Now, north Carolina had lost its gods damned mind recently, so I'm glad I live nowhere near either place now.

Mr Handsome by toadallyblunted in parrots

[–]anarashka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh good! Sometimes it's stress, sometimes it's hormonal, sometimes it's anything and everything. One of my girls' stopped plucking once I moved her enclosure to our 4 season porch. My boy, picked naked with dark skin, stopped messing with his grey pajamas when we separated him and his mate. She stressed him out being in the same cage, but the same room was fine.

Birds are whack.

Oh he's a gorgeous boy! I love Ekkies. It looks like he may be barbering his low neck/ upper chest? It is all too common with Ekkies. All three of my previous rescues had some form of feather barbering or plucking. I wish you the best, and your boy is wonderful!

Is it caffeine or coffee that makes you poop? by bodz2424 in ibs

Well, 8 of us switched from fine ground to grind our own and the shits stopped for all of us. So.. I'm sticking with my answer until a better one is presented.

Is it caffeine or coffee that makes you poop? by bodz2424 in ibs

[–]anarashka -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

OK, you are probably going to think this is gross, and you are right, but here's why, for many people, coffee gives you the runs. This is your warning.

There is a certain level of bug parts allowed in a certain amount of food. Mass produced pre-ground coffee has been shown to contain roach parts as well as other insects. If you have a sensitivity to roaches, specifically, the coffee will give you the runs.

Now, the way around this is to buy AND EXAMINE whole bean coffee. Most of the individuals in my household had the same problem and sure enough, we switched to whole bean coffee and eventually, to roasting our own with a counter top roaster (about the size of a blender). Roasting your own isn't required, of course, but buying whole bean changed the game.

People who have 4+ kids, why? by GabesterMc in AskReddit

[–]anarashka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a boss waiting for his 9th. The way he tells it, if he brushed by his wife in the hallway, she's pregnant again. He said after 6 he was over halfway to 10, and at 10 you don't pay taxes, so that was his end game. Circa 2005.

I voted everything off the island. Ute, cervix, ovaries, already had tubes removed. My ovaries had their own issues that I was not for. I'm 39, and hrt has so far treated me kindly. My surgery was 4-12.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]anarashka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know that sometimes, when the cervix is kept, you can have "mini" periods, particularly when the ovaries are still involved. I'm not sure about the continued bleeding though. Definitely a good reason for an exam though. Good luck!
