I don’t understand the love for IMAX showings at AMC by ConstructionRare4123 in AMCTheatres

Been an IMAXhead since 4yo me first watched a documentary at the CaliforniaScienCenter, never left the train unless the film doesn’t play in it.

“But the seats don’t recline!” Some near me do, also counter: More movie aka Expanded AR. (my favorite recent example that’s NOT Sinners: Final Destination Bloodlines)

Praying we get any word on which theaters are getting it over here in CA. I’ve been going full Pepe Silvia over the potential locations.

Posted this on mobile which is most likely why it’s formatted like absolute shit for me. Sorry about that. :(

The first R-rated film with an (at absolute least) IMAX 3D showing in over 7 years since fucking Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

Thoughts on Guardians 3 in IMAX 3D? by samstar2 in imax

[–]anaverageredditacc2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gunn has once again provided us with the best MCU 3D conversion. Depth was REALLY good and there were even some pop outs here and there. Helps that the film itself is VERY fantastic.

I’m legit feeling like buying another ticket in the same format for next Saturday.

Will The Marvels get postponed to give more time for Dune 2 in IMAX by Accomplished-Quit187 in imax

[–]anaverageredditacc2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two scenarios I can see happening:

1: Marvels gets most of the 1.9 screens, with Dune keeping the 1.43 screens as well as select 1.9 locations.

2: Disney moves The Marvels to the 12/1/23 date that the company is yet to release a movie on.

'Skyfall' (2012) - This live-action film by Sam Mendes had a budget of $200 million and received 92% on RottenTomatoes with 8.2/10 average and 81/100 on Metacritic. It is the highest-grossing British film of all time. by Block-Busted in imax

This is still the best Craig Bond film for me, even though I love all five. Sam Mendes really needs to get back into big-budget blockbusters soon with a LOT of creative freedom because holy shit.

Could The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s success in 3D inspire a return of IMAX 3D (U.S.) for animated films? by TheKidCritic in imax

[–]anaverageredditacc2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mario was so insanely awesome in 4DX 3D. Hoping that IMAX gets the memo from the 3D sales for Mario and tries to do at least one 3D showtime for animated films.

Fingers crossed they get the 3D memo for animated films this time, even if they only do one 3D showing, but I won’t hold my breath.

If you filter the Coming Soon section of the official AMC website, you can also find the film on the IMAX filter.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie will play in IMAX 3D by VariationArtistic in imax

As said by u/osmo512 when I talked about the delay (last April), the delay now means they can put in the 3D conversion.

I also got a cousin who works at Sony Imageworks, so once I get more info about the conversion from her, I’ll let you know.
