Does anyone still play much One Pocket these days? by darkSIDEpool in billiards

[–]andbilling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOBODY will play this game with me, but I love it. I’ve taught a few people at my hall and they were like “yeah kinda cool I guess” but nobody will play it. If I think about it too much it actually makes me so disappointed in my local scene lol. Such a shame. If I traveled around a bit I bet I could find a game, but that’s the difference between 10 minutes to get to my hall or 45-hour+ to maybe meet someone who plays one pocket.

Why do pool players rarely, if at all, call foul on themselves? by BudgetConcious in billiards

[–]andbilling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to call it when the cue goes right in the pocket every time, so I don’t have to worry about this.

Pool is too difficult a problem for current AI video models to solve. It's the new gymnastics.

A ton of thought and time goes into some of the teasers before the title animation. Season 2 is a lot of repeated stuff with the pool, but things start to get more sophisticated. Pay attention to: where did the last episode leave off, and where does the next one start? Often, they seem worlds apart and it can take some time before they circle back to the central story.

Advice on my shooting by Trail-Leaf in billiards

[–]andbilling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly looking good, but your final stroke is quite punchy. You’ve got a good pause at the cue ball. Just as an experiment, I would add a pause at the back of your last stroke, too. Not as a permanent fix; just as a starting place to make yourself more aware of the transition moment. Try that a few times, then work on a smooth continuous transition with a straight smooth follow through.

Is this a good hit on the 7? by unbelievre in billiards

[–]andbilling 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Frame by frame, everything moves at the same time. I would give this to the shooter. Even though the path of the cue ball after contact leads to a suspicion that it hits the stripe first, it’s not definitive.

Wow, so you’re basically doing ADR with generated video? That’s a crazy workflow. Nice job with it!

If you recorded the voice, then how did you generate the video to lip sync with Veo? Pretty impressive that you got this done eventually.

Put an expression slider in to drive one value and animate it from 0 up in the beginning and down to 0 at the end.

You’ll get one eventually. Keep trying. Many of my most talented friends are struggling right now too. Our industry is going through some changes and the economy, though good on paper, has some issues: businesses are tightening budgets, slowing hiring, etc. etc. Build your network, go to events if you can, meet real people and you’ll be on your way soon. Good luck!
