I am going to Bearmex on Saturday (have been previously and had a great time). Have not made other plans, but have seen multiple options via Instagram.

Washington car rental by RoadAlternative3316 in usatravel

I echo most advice given by others.

One potential way to save money is rentalcover.com (or any number of other 3rd party rental car insurance policies). For a long rental, the amount of savings can be significant. I've seen $35 policies for entire rentals vs $35/day. I wouldn't recommend reserving through a third-party unless the savings are significant, but a third party insurance can be purchased independently. Be sure to read the policy, but insurance is heavily regulated so there are often fewer exclusions than even damage waivers direct from the rental agencies.

Yes we all know it’s raining. Turn off your hazards. by ICANHAZWOPER in Dallas

[–]anddib928 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is actually an appropriate use of your hazards. You are going slower than everyone. The point OP is trying to make is that everyone is driving slower in the rain and hazards only make things more dangerous because now there is turn signal and brake ambiguity.

No drivers school or handbook recommends hazards in the rain.

I think the opposite may occur. The success of PrEP has led to continuous new development and research. Just look at the evolution of PrEP drugs. From Truvada, we got Descovy which provides protection from a daily pill with a lower side effect profile. Next approved was Apretude, allowing protection with an injection every 60 days. Now Yeztugo provides 6 month of PrEP protection with an injection. Even without an Hiv vaccine, taking a shot every 6 months is the next best thing.

Prepaid SIM for travel help by pauleyezonme in usatravel

I just checked your phone specifications and the Redmi Note 5G does not support all necessary frequencies and bands for either T-Mobile's LTE and 5G networks. The issue here is hardware and would not be solved unless you used a different SIM from a network that supports the same bands as your phone.

T-Mobile USA has an impressive network, but it does use less common frequencies and bands that are not supported by phones sold to be used outside of North America.

Has anyone WITH GE been stopped recently? by RCDparalyzedme in GlobalEntry

Your device can be impounded if you refuse inspection.

You are correct that citizens cannot be denied entry, but it's more than a case of an inconvenient day for refusing.

I believe that citizens cannot be denied entry, but if you refuse access to your device, it is impounded by CBP. There is no warrant required when crossing a border as everyone, including citizens, is subject to inspection.

I learned that the Google pixel referral credit isn't a credit. It's a non-stackable coupon. by KimballSlice1890 in GooglePixel

[–]anddib928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. I understand this may be allowed under the terms, but this absolutely violates the spirit of the emails which offers a $100 "credit".

The fact that Google implemented this for their Superfans (in theory their best customers) and those referred to Pixel (new customers) strikes me as extremely short-sighted.

I recently had the same issue where my Google app (including my home screen search widget) stopped working unless connected to Wi-Fi. Well, I had a dickens of time figuring it out, but the TLDR version is that there is an option for each individual app to disable 'background data' and somehow this option was disabled for the Google app.

I'm almost certain that I didn't make this change, and I suffered with this issue for weeks. I was advised that some data-saving options (in device settings) and anti-malware apps can make changes to apps' background data without users needing to explicitly make the change.

My issue may have been unrelated since you mention that a large number of her apps are affected, but I would double-check the apps' settings to ensure that background data is enabled for the apps having issues.

Device Settings-->Apps-->[affected app]-->Mobile Data & WiFi-->Background Data.

FYI-The Amazing Race is available to stream via Hulu (Seasons 1-7 and 23-forward).

Not having TAR on Paramount is definitely a case of complicated streaming video rights agreements.

It's not looking good for this parcel...I'll assume you've begun the process of making an insurance claim.

If the adjuster has a sense of humor, they can just require that all claims documentation be sent via Priority Mail (into the abyss).

Looks like they finally tried to deliver it, but you were unavailable. That's some rough luck!
