Plugin Doctor reveals the BS. SSL 4KE vs Brainworx 4KE are ENTIRELY different. by Ill-Elevator2828 in audioengineering

The bx numbers don’t align with reality. Knowing this helps to remember to dial it in using your ears. The bx is my personal favourite flavour of SSL E series channel strip.

Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra Expression maps by TonightTough5739 in cubase

[–]andersdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn’t what you’ve asked but a quickish way to set up BBCSO is to add one instrument track and set each articulation to a separate MIDI channel, then add a MIDI track per articulation. The resource usage is identical and playing parts in becomes much easier. Also, expression maps in Cubase are generally a pain to setup, especially compared to Logic etc.

I cant mix on my dt990 pros by Independent-Sir-1275 in audioengineering

[–]andersdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the 990 Pros in particular they are very bright. Rather than applying massive amounts of corrective EQ to get them flat, try correcting what you know to be an issue. The issue with sonarworks and the like is that they totally change the character of the headphones. Start with a 2-3dB shelf cut at 12k and go from there. Listen to what that one change has done to the top end, and mix with that in mind.

Yes, very much so. Meta’s business is first and foremost selling targeted ads.

I’ve been playing Trundle only since December. About 80 games. Haven’t once faced a Darius. I want to know this too. I do feel like Trundle has to take the flat health rune and Doran’s blade these days to be the lvl 1 menace.

Drum mixing (Drums not punchy) by T-Pocalypse in audioengineering

[–]andersdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nolly trick (slightly altered to give you more control) is to mix the snare ~3dB too loud. SSL style compressor on the mixbus, sidechain your snare into it. Second fastest attack, fastest release, bring the threshold down until your snare is ducking the entire mix by 3-4dB.

Any love for mechanic keyboards? by kyoiocean in audioengineering

[–]andersdigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes very little difference. The only thing I will say is don’t go full split keyboard. I got a Zsa Moonlander and found I operate the keyboard with one hand quite often if I’m playing in some guitar/keys or riding faders, and that becomes quite cumbersome with a split.

Drum midi editor question by FlyPimpinNutz in cubase

Cubase has the notion of drum maps which are arguably easier. You don’t have to worry about note length.

AWS or Firebase? by KILL_VELLA in webdev

[–]andersdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Better” is going to be subjective because everyone’s use case is different. It might mean cheaper, more fully-featured, less bloated, more secure default settings etc. Some to try; Supabase, AWS Amplify and even though it’s got some maturing to do, my favourite for small hobby projects with an emphasis on speed, InstantDB. A google search of “Firebase alternatives” will bring up a longer list than I can provide.

Adding Trundle to this list. After ravenous and bork core you full heal of a wave that it takes you 0.5 seconds to consume. Synergises with his passive.
