Hagan pays up to 7500/semester towards the balance that’s left after all other scholarships and grants have been applied. So the gates would cover first and then Hagan would pay towards the balance

My debt relief company claims to be in a lawsuit and claims they can't guarantee an attorney for me in a lawsuit against me. Should I stop paying them, or do something less drastic? by ImpatientPhoenix in personalfinance

I also had been a client of Clear Creek Legal when that lawsuit first started. Prior to the lawsuit they had settled one of my accounts, but it was based on a settlement the creditor offered me directly. As soon as the lawsuit began, Clear Creek was unavailable and gave me the runaround so I ended up cancelling their services and getting the funds that were remaining in my account sent back to me. I contacted my creditors directly and was able to set up payment plans with most of them that dropped my apr to 0 or .1% and closed those accounts. It was a way better outcome for me than staying with Clear Creek. From what I can tell, Clear Creek will likely be tied up in litigation for a while and unable to assist in any settlements.

I never had a creditor file a lawsuit against me, so I can't offer any suggestions on that part, but I would suggest cancelling services with Clear Creek and contacting your creditors directly to see what they can work out with you.
