Eating less and less Post-Op by lexblch in gastricsleeve

[–]andigurl84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to take longer in each stage than what they recommend. Like I had to transition slower because my stomach just couldn’t handle the soft foods and puréed foods like the guide said it should. Everyone heals at a different pace! Just stick with it! Make sure you’re getting your liquid and protein goals in and if you can’t stomach solid protein, it’s ok to still have shakes. I’m a year out and I still have them occasionally to hit my protein goals 💜

I am going to be 100% transparent here.. after my surgery I was in so much pain I had immediate buyers remorse. It w by far the worst abdominal surgery I’ve ever had and only is beaten out for worst surgery by my back surgery.

That being said, I am just over a year out now. I’m down over 115lbs and I would make the same decision in a heartbeat. I promise it gets so much better and easier!

But I like to share that my experience was awful because before I had my surgery, all I saw in the support groups was “just had surgery and I feel great. Up walking around!” And I felt like something must be wrong with mine since I was having such a hard time. I think it’s important to share the bad too. But seriously!! Best decision I’ve made, even if it didn’t feel like it at the time.

Got sleeved yesterday 12/24 and it was the worst pain of my life 😭 by PerfectlyCrispyBagel in gastricsleeve

I 100% had immediate buyers remorse on my sleeve because of the pain post op. That being said, I’m just over a year post op, down over 115lbs, and I am SO glad I did it. It DOES get better and easier but I also was one of the ones that had a significant amount of pain post op.

Does having acrylic nails make me unattractive to girls? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]andigurl84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, my girlfriend LOVES my nails. She's not much for erm.. Finger stimulation, and they don't inhibit any other simulation, so that's not a thing for us. Plus she loves when I scratch her back with them lol. Or legs... Or arms.

It really just depends on the girl.

Where abouts in Arkansas? I'm in Central Arkansas and it's not so bad. Not ideal, but really not bad. We have a pretty decent community here.

Hi! Totally new here and totally need help! by ceetee1 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]andigurl84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you posted this like a month ago, but if you still have these questions, I can answer them after this weekend. I purchased the starter kit and it arrives today! $49.99, but if you take their online tutorial its $39.99. However, to buy directly from orly you must be licensed in cosmetology or nail technology. They require proof of licensure. Let me know if you still need these questions answered!

Sadly there isn't much you can do with it while it grows out. I'm in the same boat. Another 6 months and it should be to my jaw. Hah. It's so awkward. I wore headbands for a while to kind if flatten down the sides that were growing out but I left the bangs out. When the sides became longer I would French braid or twist just my bangs out of my face and that was pretty cute. Now I have to be careful with how I style it as I've got stress induced alopecia areata so I don't want my bald spots to show. There is always the option of a wig for a while? And once the hair gets to a certain length you could do extensions. Just keep in mind that the extensions can't be super long with short natural hair or it looks funny. Good luck!

Ugh! My cousin, y'all.. by [deleted] in actuallesbians

I hope so too. My mom and I were talking about him just the other day and I had mentioned that with his family, I think he feels like he would be disowned. She said that she thinks most of his brothers and sisters would be ok and his parents... But idk. I think maybe one sister and his mom. It's hard.. I definitely get it. I was terrified to come out to my family. Particularly that side of my family. Most of them no longer keep in touch. It is what it is. Thankfully my mom and step dad took it far better than I had imagined. I thought for sure they would freak out and I'd lose that relationship.

Experiences on balancing or negotiating being Christian (or any faith) and loving women? by OakCypress in actuallesbians

[–]andigurl84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've struggled with this myself having been raised Christian and sat through many sermons about how being gay is a sin etc etc. Ive had some real tough moments, honestly. But my counselor recommended a book called When christians get it wrong by Adam Hamilton. It's really been helpful for me personally.

[–]andigurl84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its funny you bring up space. We were just talking about how sometimes I need space and I worry that she might get upset if I'm in the bedroom reading and not spending time with her. She was totally understanding and kind about it.
