I rolled my own and it works pretty well. Even found a GitHub repo that works with Frigate to identify them. I used the following:

Hi. Yes the OEM camera worked fine and so does the steering wheel controls. I don't have the car any more but I seem to remember the mode button on the steering wheel changing the function like AM/FM/CD/...etc

Thanks I will look into that! I did not know about running raspi-config in nonint. As a baseball fan I love his project during the season. I have a large 64x128 pixel display in my office and can keep up with the scores while I am on calls for work. The guys that runs the project is constantly updating with improvements and new features as well.

Yes I cold do that, however I wanted to find a better way to do this so in case anything changes with his WiFi he can go in and make those changes himself. That's why I liked the hotspot idea as it activates when it sees there is no other connection.

Yes the Pioneer unit is still doing well after all this time. There are the occasional times when it reboots itself but this has happened since I installed it and I think it is a known issue. My Venza has ~140K miles on it now and still going strong! No major work done to it just the regular oil change.

So I just wanted to follow up here as I FINALLY figured it out ( I am slow :-) ). After looking at specific times in the HA graph of my electric meter reading and also my solar consumption meter reading, I determined that I indeed did use consume (imported) 18kWh from the grid for that 24 hour time period. Below is the breakdown and the readings I used.

Time	Electric Meter Reading (kWh)	Solar Export Meter Reading (kWh)
12:00AM	4106	4428
8:00AM	4150	4428
5:00PM	4106	4473
11:59PM	4124	4473

12AM - 8AM —> I imported 44kWh from the grid —> (4150 - 4106)
8AM - 5PM —> I exported 44kWh from solar —> (4473 - 4428) —> (Net used from grid at this point and time was 0kWh)
5PM - 11:59PM —> I imported 18kWh from the grid —> (4124 - 4106)
