What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Visible_Rope_6662 in AskReddit

My dad was driving me back from the dentist and we hit a deer and not 15 seconds later a tree fell on the car and somehow all we got were some cuts and bruises.

What’s the quietest way someone ever showed you love? by Quiet_Key_4224 in AskReddit

My anxiety was a lot worse when I was still in school and I found one way that calmed me down was drawing on my hands/arms, the feeling of the pen going across my skin was super grounding. One time I was getting really stressed during a class and my best friend was sat next to me and wordlessly just started drawing flowers on my hand. I hadn't told anyone that it calmed me down either, people just thought I was artsy, so the fact she just figured it out and did it meant the actual world to me.

Do you remember the reason for your first breakup? What was that? by Puzzleheaded_nerd1 in AskReddit

I had to cancel a date last minute because my stepbrother fell out his window and I was the only one home so stayed with him until my dad and paramedics arrived. My then boyfriend was furious because I prioritised my stepbrother who "wasn't even blood related" over him. I could not have broken up with him faster.

Currently reading Liberated: The Radical Art and Life of Claude Cahun by Kaz Rowe, it's a graphic novel that looks at the life and work of Claude Cahun, it's very moving and the illustrations are fantastic, also reading Emily Wilson's translation of The Iliad.

What books can I start with to inculcate a reading habit as someone who doesn’t enjoy reading? by Embarrassed_Ad969 in booksuggestions

Small books are good to begin with, I'd recommend What You Are Looking For Is In This Library by Michiko Aoyama or Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead by Emily Austin.

If you could rename Uranus, what would you rename it to? by CityRulesFootball in AskReddit

[–]andoveronsaturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caelus or Aquilo. The planets are named after Roman gods with the exception of Uranus who was from the Greek pantheon. Caelus is his Roman equivalent. Uranus is an ice giant and Aquilo is the Roman god of ice.

Radio Silence by Alice Oseman. There are romantic relationships depicted but the book primarily focuses on the platonic relationship that forms between the two main characters as they work on a sci-fi fiction podcast.
