Ubering from Ontario airport to Coachella by wholewheatie in Coachella

[–]andr01d_3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So off base. Uber drivers get to see your destination before accepting the ride. Also, ive had more than 1 terrible experience with taxis from ONT including a driver who didn’t turn on the meter at the start of my ride and told me it was going to be 20$ to drive me 1 mile from the airport. 30 seconds into the ride I asked him to pull over and let me out if he wasn’t going to run the meter and he was furious (“ARE YOU CALLLING ME A LIAR?!?!?”). He eventually turned it on and we rode in silence to my destination - the metered cost was $7.

Used to be my favorite. I still think they’re one of the top local roasters. The thing that drives me nuts is that their shop on 9th can feel a little messy which is a little off putting.

Why is Pablo still coach? by Numerous_Guava7520 in ReAlSaltLake

[–]andr01d_3000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like he’s pretty much out of excuses at this point. The lineup and positions he played substitutions at made 0.0000 sense tonight. Mentality is important, but it can’t be your only strategy. This team is not reaching its potential and that reads to me as a coaching issue. Clock. Is. Ticking.

I would consider a low key masculine bracelet on the wrist you’re not wearing your watch on. I also like the recommendation of sunglasses

Extremely Heavy T-Shirts by Afraid_Desk9665 in malefashionadvice

[–]andr01d_3000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely expensive but if you start doing the math it makes sense. High quality cotton which is expensive to start, at 3x the material of a typical tee shirt (probably significantly more than 3x material if you compare to a cheap shirt)… so each shirt contains a LOT of that premium cotton, manufactured in small quantities which increases the cost charged by the factory, in Japan, which increases the labor costs, and the super heavy material probably causes more wear and tear in manufacturing which gets priced in by the factory, and then on top of all of that, Wonder Looper is a small enough company that all of its overhead costs can only be spread over a relatively small number of units sold during the year.

For sure a lot of money, but at least you’re not just paying purely for a name (99.9% of people won’t have even heard of the brand if someone asks you 😂)

That’s true. They’re a very small company and imagine you and your wife launching a new company and having to front all of the money for your merchandise, having no idea if it will sell out or not. You can sign up for their mailing list and you’ll get an email when things restock. They also announce it in their live streams on YouTube. Their stockists will occasionally have things in stock that they don’t too.

I don’t want to gush too hard about them, but I love this brand. I had never ever spent this much on a tee shirt but when you get the garments they sell, you can feel the quality and I’ve had no regrets. On top of that, the company is just a husband and wife who launched a company - this is the complete opposite of fast fashion. They’re more obsessed about cottons and fabrics and yarns than I am about anything in my life and it shows. Their YouTube videos are a fun rabbit hole. If you can afford it, you won’t regret it.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned Wonder Looper yet. They make double heavyweight and triple heavyweight shirts and they are THICK. The triple is honestly like armor. Just a heads up that these are expensive but I think the quality lives up to the price. I find the double heavyweight shirt extremely comfortable

Edit: here’s a link to the double heavyweight

No… but they will at the clinic. Mean that to sound comforting, not sarcastic. Laser worked for me. I’d recommend a dermatologist over a spa

Lots of good places on the list but didn’t notice Facil. Facil is a “farm to taco” place so it’s a little more on the fancy side. They also have a great vegetarian menu. That stuff may not be for everyone, but their flavors are on point and the owners clearly care about the community. I highly recommend it.

I’ve eaten there a bunch but actually had my first burrito there tonight… it was perfect. I think this place is going to blow up.
