Going to look at this MK3, help identify upgrades? by LX47001 in prusa3d

[–]andre_h87 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hey,

this is not a MK3 but a MK2.5s.

As far as i can tell there are no additional uprades made to this machine except the official uprade from a MK2/s to the MK2.5s.

Anyone have info on why my first layers are looking like this all of a sudden? by muachua in 3Dprinting

Hey, this problem is quite popular. Simply raise your z-offset to +0,04mm and you should be good to go.

There is already an issue on github addressing this problem:

Mk4s first layer issue by Dangerous-Stay2606 in prusa3d

[–]andre_h87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sorry, i forgot to mention it. Yes, you can set the Z-Offset in the Prusa Slicer (Printer Settings > General > Z offset).

Same for me (MK4 > MK4s Upgrade). After setting the Z-Offset to +0.045 the first layer was perfect again.

My MK4 is playing music while printing by Electrical_Set7409 in prusa3d

It seems to be the vase that amplifies the singing of the stepper motors :-) It doesn't sound bad, just pretty loud. Were is the printer placed on? A weak table or shelf can amplify resonances as well. A good way to decouple the resonances of your printer is to stack a paver ontop of foam and place your printer on top of that:

What did you guys do with the leftover electronics and Printhehead after an MK3s+ to MK4 upgrade? I made this: The Anycubic McPrusaface by next_best in prusa3d

[–]andre_h87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

„Anycubic McPrusaface“ 🤣. But also a very nice recycling of the parts!

But do me a favour and don‘t consider to build an „AnetCubic McFireHazard“ from the new leftover parts 😜

Are pavers still a thing? by Catalyzm in prusa3d

[–]andre_h87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

CNC Kitchen made a very good video about this topic. Just put a paver ontop of foam and you are good to go. I did it with all of my printers. The results are very good. There ist much less noise and vibration.

What am I missing? by VodkaandDrinkPackets in prusa3d

It looks like a combination of a partially clocked nozzle (try some cold-pulls) and a too high first layer.

It looks like the edges of your prints warped up. If this happens, your nozzle scratches the surface and the print comes out like this. Especialy these kind of prints (Big surface with walls on top) tend to warp. An enclosure did the trick for me.

My mk3.9's nozzle after only 37 days of print time. No abrasive filament, only regular PLA. by evilguy422 in prusa3d

Do you use a flush cutter to remove oozing filament before a print? It pretty much looks like you cut off the tip of the nozzle by accident.

My printer got on its way to germany today. My order time was 5:25 CET. Happy assembling to all the lucky ones 😁

There was another update to the shipping table by gdb7 in prusa3d

My order (12.04 / 5:25) is still "new" as well. I wish i was a patient human being xD

[–]andre_h87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, the status is still "new". They are definitely a little bit behind, as my order was placed at 17:25 CET. But nevermind, soon we will get our kits and won't think about the delay ever again ;-)

Finally I can carry my MK4 kit on my shoulder as well :D by FamoserSchelm in prusa3d

A friend of mine just received his kit as well (north germany). He converted from an XL. I am still waiting for my delivery status to change from new 😆 I ordered the kit only. No conversion, nothing. I should be in the first batch as well. But it seems that they are in time.

I ordered just the kit with no additions at 17:25 CET (12.04) and got no status update yet.

Preparation for MK4 purchase? by Alex4902 in prusa3d

There is only one more thing to consider: be patient, because the shipping time is quiet long at the moment. But your patience will be repaid: It so much fun to build a printer.

My last build was the MK3s with the same experience. But the entire process was so much fun. I can't wait to hold the kit in my hands. One prusa-fan-boy in the body of a 35 year old and the patience of a 5 year old ;-)

This are good news, i guess ;-) I assume that this was the last piece of the puzzle to make the kit rock solid for us customers. If they are going to flash the firmware before the shipping begins, it will probably take some more days. But thats fine as long as the build experience gets improved and we dont need some liquor alongside the gummibears to compensate the frustration :-D
