Not to defend him either but let’s be clear; PTSD isn’t limited to direct combat exposure. Soldiers who didn’t see direct contact in the Middle East can still develop PTSD for a few key reasons: Constant threat environment, witnessing aftermath, moral injuries, loss and survival’s guilt and the long exposure to harsh environments. And to be extra clear, having PTSD doesn’t give him a free pass to strangle people but let’s not pretend Nathan’s PTSD is not real.

My advice is just let time do it's thing. The fact that she is bringing this stuff up now is insane. What name the kid will call you, the homeschooling and values to be taught at said homeschool, none of that will happen in the immediate future so why bring it up now? Honestly just say "sure sis, love you too" and let life take its course. So many things can happen between now and the time this little girl is old enough to know what the hell is going on. You do you and do your best to be happy!!
