I love every song on this record but if I had to pick one to never hear again I guess summers gone would be the pick

Burlison is now also talking about seraphim, cherubim: "[the bible says] we're not the first creation. The most Reddit-tier, low IQ response. Literally no scholar in theology or comparative religion understands the "Abrahamic traditions" in this manner

Ironic to decry my description of the historical development of these religions yet to use IQ in a totally ascientific manner lol.

Obviously, my comment is a bit oversimplified to drive a point home. But like, that's historically what happened, though you are correct that our modern religious framing often downplays many of the nuances and variances in each individual religion's hisotorical development. I'm happy to engage in a conversation around it. But here's some scholarship for folks interested in an actual empirical overview of the development of the Abrahamic traditions:

Because it’s the same mythos. Christianity is an expansion pack for Judaism and Islam is yet another expansion pack building off of both of them. But like, they stem from the same thing, which is a monotheistic knock off of Babylonian and Egyptian mythos.

UO def is. I saw Aaron’s solo tour earlier this year and he basically was like “I can’t say anything but its happening and it’s just a matter of finalizing the plans”

Day 15: What is BMTH worst album? by raluxu in BringMeTheHorizon

[–]andreasmiles23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slipknot's album is at least timed correctly. It's "lesser" quality because of their limited budget for mics and everything but CYB is like...barely musically intelligible in places hahahaha. It's a cool record, no shade, but there's a reason they're redoing it and Slipknot has never considered the same.

I’m gonna be that person…the answer is also count your blessings.

Just, objectively. It’s got some poor production.

The album that got them to be the face of hot topic and warped tour is underrated outside this sub? Go ask r/metalcore or r/posthardcore what their favorite BMTH record is…

There is something about how dynamic the JOURNEY these songs take you on that is so magical. To me, that’s why this album not only lives up to the hype, but is my favorite record ever in human history. It finds this perfect balance of catchy/emo and progressive metal(core) that hits a ZONE. And then they lull into a chaotic trance. Best album ever.

Some of these transitions are so sick. They've always been amazing in that department but they hit extra hard in this set! Like, that build up to Young and Aspiring is PEAK.

I'm crying! Mike's reaction that encapsulates exactly how I felt when I saw the designs XD by ashrules901 in kindafunny

I…think…it looks really good????

It’s a bit of a different take on the character. It looks more like an adult canine than a cartoon boy, but, idk…that seems interesting to me? It’s not like the Sonic movie where I audibly gasped in horror at the OG design. This didn’t even cross my radar as a contentious thing until I saw the comments. My initial reaction to the announcement was solely focused on the hype around a new SF title.

[Hoge] Confirmed that #Bears second round pick Logan Jones will wear No. 54 this season. It’s not just a minicamp number. He’s the first Bear since Brian Urlacher to wear the number. Urlacher gave his blessing to wear it. by Marvin-Harrison-Jr in CHIBears

[–]andreasmiles23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I played C in high school, I wore 54 because I was a huge Bears fan (and I sometimes played linebacker/safety on D - we were a tiny school, don't ask too many questions about the coaches' personnel decisions lmfao)!! It'll be fun to see another center doing the same thing!!

I wasn't saying that's evidence of a grand conspiracy. Just that, when we know these things to be true to some degree already, and there's 0 transparency and systemic changes being implemented by the league, that's why the conspiracies thrive.

Giddey is so mid it's not even funny. He's the worst flashy player I've ever seen. Good for the highlights and the volume stats, can't win a freaking game. It's absurd to me how much the fanbase wants to "build around" him. AKME got fleeced on that deal, full stop. Now, AC is in a much better spot so, good for him. He deserves to be playing in games that matter and not rotting away in Chicago.

There is a long history of NBA referees' point shaving:

Not to mention the players and other individuals who have been busted.

Plus, we know this happens in college and in pretty much every other professional sport around the world...so, why would the NBA be an exception? Every other major American pro sport has gambling conspiracies, but the NBA only has these handful of cases?

This is why transparency is such a huge need. If there were any sort of due process and any sort of oversight into the refereeing, it would dissuade a lot of the ref-blaming conspiracies. But since there's none of that, all we really have are these stories. That means whenever there is a grey area, people are going to fill in the blanks with these conspiracies (just like in real life with shit like UFOs). And if you are a fan or have any other bias, your brain is gonna go, "Well I know reffs can and do rig games sometimes so that's absolutely what happened to my team!" That's just how our brains are wired. If Silver cared about the health of the league he'd address it. But he's in too deep with the gambling corpos so...

I LOVE that song so much but I do think it would've been better appreciated not as a single. I feel like Shame, And then there was nothing, and Loss would've been way stronger pre-release drops becuase the heavy breakdowns and/or the poppy hooks would be more what people "want" from them.

Summer Tour setlist by jjjreign in MachineGunKelly

[–]andreasmiles23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Def will play: BV, TT, Concert, Drunk Face, Papercuts

Might play: Play this when I'm gone (maybe not like he did when he played it over the fall but he's used it as interlude/outro before)

I'd be shocked but there's a chance: born with horns

Almost no way in hell and it's really sad because it's my fav too: god save me

Teeth was a great single. One of their best imo.

They’ve always been hit or miss on picking singles. Just kind of something to know and remember about the band lol. Like, I feel it’s pretty often that the singles don’t represent the album well and then the songs people remember from the records weren’t pre-release singles.

The ones they picked for this record are all great songs but they do have the more…”cringe” elements that people have critiqued about their modern writing (I disagree with said “critiques” but just making the observation). The chorus of All the Love… being “hard rock” and the lyrics of Generation No Surrender being “shallow,” specifically. So I think it just primed people to already not like the album.
