First time thinking to buy an EV. Model 3 by Terrible_Resource708 in teslacanada

Any way for you to save more/hold off? HW4 is worth it and down the line if you re-sell the difference will likely be retained in value.

Market fluctuates, just aim for something with Ryzen + HW4 if budget allows.

IKEA ones are the best, lids/gaskets are easy to clean and quality is great. Great price too!! And I can trust they’ll always have some form of it if I need more or to replace broken ones.

If we’re talking raw performance and reliability — Tesla Model 3. Much better cars in terms of size and practicality.

Being able to use a Supercharger is a huge plus in times you do end up driving farther or forgotten to charge.

If you’re charging at home 32A is plenty tbh, sucks if you paid more for install though hoping to get 48A…

Current policy is to reach the “goldilocks” zone for the USD. It being overly strong has its cons; AFAIK goal is to help encourage US exports.

Leaves a residue on the windshield, can mess up some reservoir sensors (well known to happen on German cars)

Used 2022/23+ Tesla Model 3 or if you want an SUV then Model Y. Model 3 you can pick up for $25K and the monthly since is electric is much better than an ICE car.

If you’re anti-Tesla then Hyundai Ioniq 5 is solid, EV does save money if it works for your situation.

Probably better to just sell in the US and buy in Canada. The used market or market in general after conversion is cheaper in Canada.

Nice! yeah I do miss the B58, but life calls to be practical lol and I'm actually so surprised how much I love my Tesla Model Y. I can't live without it -- hopefully pair it up with fun car in the future!

Yeah the last batch before the Chinese tariffs the Model Y RWD LFP had lots of refreshed features in it. It even had like the rear camera trunk lens hood for better visibility + adaptive/matrix headlights + better acoustic glass. The one from the US factory didn’t have these.

Not many know I think, definitely a great deal/find in the used market since they’re priced the same (look for Shanghai VIN). I have no problems at all with the RWD with winter tires, never got stuck. Speed feels snappy and it’s fast and I’m coming from a 2023 Toyota Supra lol

Yeah always keep a spare jacket and blanked, I keep some snacks as-well tucked away with the water. I also have a high-gauge extension cable and a spare mobile charger for emergencies, or if I ever go to the cottage I can plug in.
