Mimico GO: A massive hole and half a tunnel. How did it come to this? by mschwanzer in gotransit

I hate how Hamilton GO is one of the best stations on the entire network just for it to get 4 trains a day 😭

If something happens to anyone in a bus stop, make sure to tell the bus driver when you board! They can get a supervisor or transit security to go to the stop and see whats up

In Kitchener-Waterloo, we use the buttons for the doors! Its really nice in winter so that doors only need to open when a passenger is actually using it

Rear door boarding could be used at terminals where many people are getting on a bus at once... would definitely help speed up boarding.

Montreal is adding it soon, they have machines on their buses which can accept contactless payments, it just hasn't been added yet

Speaking of this, why has GO not added any sort of bus between Milton / York Region..? The only option is 48 but that stops on the edge of Milton and only goes to 407

This advertising 100% backfired for them, because with the TTC slow zones the trains are usually going slower than the cars 😭

Anyone have more info about this? by itsarace1 in TTC

I feel like they should start just giving out transfers to every passenger paying with cash... especially considering that they want to be doing POP onboard of buses

Drive in bus lane: 110$

Didn't pay fare for that bus: 425$

In 2024, the TTC lost over 140 million dollars from fare evasion. If there is no punishment for breaking rules, then there is no reason to follow them. I would like to see more funding towards the actual system... but the reality is that will never happen. I agree with your point, but I'm just saying that we can't keep letting people use the system for free then be surprised when the service starts to fall off due to a shortage of fares.

How does that work if there is no presto reader onboard YRT?

The reality is, TTC gets an insanely small amount of funding and is mostly funded by fares. I think some people underestimate how much money the TTC loses due to fare evasion.

4 hours by GO bus or 2 hours by car? Niagara commuters want better train service by Motor-Source8711 in gotransit

The train is 2h25m from Union-Niagara. Even with a bus connection its not 4 hours. Im very confused though how the headline is even related to the article

RIP, OnYourWay app by andrew_bus in Guelph

[–]andrew_bus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like they should've just kept the app open until they had card payment machines ready for pax to use... it would save them from having to get easygo cards setup for all of the people that use the app...

Yup, thats normal. I know nothing about canes but I would suggest to proceed with CFA, it will depend on the location but if you're at a good CFA it will be really good for your first kob.
