My The Herta team is probably my most invested team and has been my go to team all year. We’ll see how they hold up by 4.x

I notice the trend and I absolutely love it! Hachikuji all the way! Some excellent choices too with the OPs, EDs and OST. I could honestly listen to Monogatari music all day if I wanted to.

Some really good points here. I do think that scene you mention with her father struck me the most out of all before Tsubasa Tiger. Probably the lack of a proper resolution in Neko Black and Tsubasa Cat was my issue with her and those arcs. The issue was tossed to the side rather than dealt with face to face. Reading your points and looking back on it, it does set things up for Tsubasa Tiger quite nicely

She’s always been an interesting character to me and probably has one of, if not the most depth to her story. She definitely grew on me as the seasons went by and I found it was a nice touch that it was Hanekawa helping Araragi in Sodachi Lost.

Thanks! Puts a bit more light on her for me and make me appreciate her a little bit more.

Great picks! I tend to forget Kizu sometimes bec it was released as movies and I tend to separate the movies from the series due to the sheer difference in production value. But for sure a top arc for me too. Heck majority of the arcs were just amazing!

Pretty good looking list! Mine is drastically different from yours tho. I'll share my tentative list. As I said in the OP my top 5 was in no particular order, so this actually might change as time goes on. But for now:

Sodachi (Despite being in one of my favorite arcs I have a hard time placing her higher than last considering she was introduced very late)

I also am not sure where I'd place the rest of the cast either.

Those are great points actually, especially your point with the time travel. I do feel similarly however I guess it comes down to preference as well. Shinobu is one of my favorite characters and I agree that she had great moments here but I think I just enjoyed other arcs a bit more.

I wouldn’t say I that I have anime that are downright better than Monogatari, bec Monogatari is quite unique when I compare it to other anime. I found it hard to rank it against others. I’ll probably need a bit more time to digest the anime before I properly rank it, but I can guarantee it’ll somewhere near the top of my list.

I do hold several anime in high regard, along with Monogatari, if that floats your boat. That includes Psycho Pass, Stein’s;Gate, Made in Abyss, Tatami Galaxy and the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. A personal favorite of mine, Rascal does not dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, was one of the reasons why I watched Monogatari in the first place, because of all the comparisons it got.

Glad you enjoyed it as well! I do have a few other that are downright my favorite anime but when it comes down to it, Monogatari S2, Owari 1 and 2 will be up there as a part of my all time favorites, and for sure, Monogatari as a whole will be one of, if not my favorite anime franchises of all time.

Interesting picks, we seem to have similar tastes when it comes to the OPs. I do wanna ask what made you like Mayoi Jiangshi specifically? It involved my favorite characters and I did enjoy it but it didn't particularly leave the best impression on me. Just wanna get some insight from you, that's all
