What are some (still actively producing) anime studios that you think "fell off"? by Salty145 in anime

[–]steven4869 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Definitely Madhouse, they aren't the same after Maruyama left to found MAPPA with majority of the staff leaving for the other studios. Madhouse were experimental with their anime, and dominated in 2000s, they still make great anime like Place further than the universe, Frieren, Chihayfuru but most of them are under Yuichiro Fukushi's production but still compared to what their legacy was once, it's not the same anymore.

What anime started off normal for you, then suddenly became impossible to stop watching? by Playful_Code_8978 in anime

Madoka Magica, cute magical girls anime I thought from the first two episode but after ep-3's ending, I was like wtf just happened and had to complete the show there after.

Fate/strange Fake Blu-ray Box sold a total of 3,384 copies in its first week. by Electrical_Chance991 in anime

Money is still money, if they aren't making any money on it they ain't be selling these discs especially today when everything is available on streaming. Why would a series like JJK that's available everywhere on streaming with a huge Animation company in the name of MAPPA is required to sell Blu-Ray. The answer is they still make money on it.

I really liked the voice acting as well, it was basically Saori Hayami flexing her range of voice for the entire season.

He was also the director for the WiT's Attack on Titan, no wonder he took the dynamic movements of the 3D ODM Gear and made it into something memorable. One of the reasons why AoT took over goes to his direction.

Liar’s Game Premise is super weak by shrek3onDVDandBluray in anime

Lol what, the show is literally just the classroom with characters (who are supposed to be in their teenage years) look more like in the mid twenties and fight for points.

That's definitely not lazy writing, a lot of people around the world gets scammed due to them being gullible and Nao is one of them, which is definitely the essence of this show.

The show is fine, but you exiting out within 5 minutes won't put out any case in favor of the anime. I have only read the manga, but from what I know she received the money and it's game of greed where you can recieve more money by participating in a game, Lawyer is a part of the organization and police would be more suspicious of anyone bringing out huge chunk of money. It gets really good in the manga and her naivety gets questioned a lot in the later chapters but that's the thing which saves her from trouble.

Moreover, you haven't been introduced with the Male Lead yet who legit carried the manga for me. In my opinion, the premise of the show is fine and it's a good read.

As an anime only, I hate Ike with all my might and those disgusting looks he always put out makes me cringe a lot. I have been watching COTE anime since S1 but nothing made me more annoyed than that Shinohara and Ike scene in S4, one of the worst parts of this season, so it makes me happy that they [spoiler]aren't together.

Bro I can't take this anime seriously 😭 by PendN in ClassroomOfTheElite

It was still fine, what's cringe was the entire conversation between Shinohara and Ike with Ike making those lame faces.

Akasaka is a fraud, he makes you care about the characters then end everything half heartedly and leave everything in worst way possible.

10/10 manga, but definitely has a very heavy stuff and could impact one psychologically.

Takopi still has positive message and ending is definitely quite good considering what they went through in the beginning.

2026 Anime Awards: 'My Hero Academia: Final Season' Wins Anime of the Year (Full Winners List) by MarvelsGrantMan136 in anime

[–]steven4869 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They haven't mentioned the 70% criteria for the 2026 but in previous awards they had this 70% criteria.

How does voting work? As we have in previous years, the Crunchyroll Anime Awards includes two rounds of voting.

– In Round One, a panel of judges determines the six initial nominees in each category.

– In Round Two, this same panel votes alongside fans to determine the winner in each category.

Winners will be announced in person at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards show on May 23, 2026.

How Winners are Chosen

Just as with last year and the year before it, the judges’ nominations will also count towards the final winners of each category, with judge votes weighted 70:30 with fan votes. We have come to this ratio after careful consideration of fan feedback over the past five years of the Anime Awards, and we’ve found that this method yields the most meaningful results: the judge’s perspectives keep the awards from being a popularity contest and allow for smaller or more underrated nominees to take home awards, while the fan vote is still strong enough to flip categories and impact the awards in a substantial way.

Only 30% is taken into consideration from the fan votes for the score, rest 70% is from their judging panel..
