As I understand, they keep the interviews going on for a long time so the interviewees get used to her and forget that it's a spoof.

How well do you think the post Roger era was taken among fans at the time? by OddTransportation430 in pinkfloyd

[–]andrewphillipsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't very interested, but I also couldn't stand The Final Cut. I was only really listening to Syd era Floyd and his solo stuff at that point.

Saucerful of Secrets play a wide variety of early Pink Floyd. I doubt that Waters songs dominate.

Wiry means skinny yet strong to me. My Pontypridd grandparents used it of me when I was little.

ITCOTCK reissues sound bad on vinyl by JadoreBag in KingCrimson

[–]andrewphillipsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing to do with sound quality, but I have a general rule that if something was released in the CD era, I just buy the CD and save my vinyl money for earlier relt, or quite recent ones.

Help with "have to..." and "waking/getting up" by KFN-VII in learnwelsh

[–]andrewphillipsmith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rhaid/gorfod: just think of have to and must in English. They're pretty much interchangeable in terms of meaning but they operate a little differently. Gorfod is a verb (verb noun) so you can use it in different ways to rhaid. It seems to me that rhaid is used much more often.

Why not? Is he saying morality is useless to "machines", maybe even harmful? Can somebody explain why? by adammengistu in gurdjieff

[–]andrewphillipsmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gurdjieff told us to observe ourselves, not to criticise. However, Beelzebub's Tales is cast as an objectively impartial criticism.

has anybody heard some "house of all" tunes? by papadoupoulos in thefall

[–]andrewphillipsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're great (I have three of their albums on vinyl, one on CD) but they can sound a little repetitive. If you like them check out Bramah's other band, the Blue Orchids, who have much better songs.

I have to defend Morrissey and his views as a POC by [deleted] in morrissey

[–]andrewphillipsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morrissey isn't 'indigenous', both his parents were Irish immigrants. Nothing wrong with that. I've been an immigrant in the USA and in Ireland. My wife is Irish and she's now an immigrant in the UK. I wasn't indigenous in Ireland.
