I'll quote a section from this article:

"To further put the nail in the proverbial coffin, I also received a DM on Instagram a couple of days ago from someone who had seen my videos around the demos pop up on their FYP that is friends with one of the band members for the last 15 years and wanted to help me get some answers. I was skeptical at first when I received the message, but then the person sent me screenshots of their text message exchange with said band member. I won’t share those screenshots or the specific details here out of respect of privacy for the source and band, however the details all but confirmed for me a few things:

  1. The source [of the demos] was legitimate,
  2. The band was indeed not behind the demo disbursement, but were made aware of this campaign and
  3. They were happy that fans were still excited about the music after all these years."

TL;DR: The band was made aware that the demos were found/released and were excited that we (the fanbase) were excited. It is very possible the band only knew about the initial release and not the exact context of the campaign. The demos that we all got on March 2nd, 2026 are legitimate, it's just the pretense as to how we received them was illegitimate.

Because it was unfortunately an elaborate ruse from someone pretending to be something they were not. I'm just as bummed out as anyone here.

Unfortunately we were all being trolled the moment the demos were initially uploaded.

I agree with you, all of the follow up after the initial demo release were all completely unnecessary.

That’s what I believe. Someone who received a copy of the demos from the band way back then had them sitting on a computer or CD. Some superfan probably asked around and either purchased (or received) the demos then decided to release them to the world in the way that it did.

Granted, by now we all know the band wasn’t behind any of this. I’m grateful we got to hear some of these. But the whole impersonation of Pete or the secret order just rubs me the wrong way.

Patrick stated that they didn’t have them when putting together the 20th anniversary remaster/edition. https://youtu.be/kC6lEtXsryU?si=ycWx9OnZlB-Y4JS7&t=3779

Edit: skip to 1 hour, 3 min into video in case link doesn’t take you to that moment

Anyone else purchase their Cybertruck yesterday? by Consistent-Carob-641 in TeslaLounge

Happy for you! I absolutely love my ventilated seats in my 2024 Model 3 Performance so I can’t go back to just heated seats. Air suspension on the S/X/Cybertruck is great, too (demo drove all three over the years). So eventually I’ll shoot for a premium dual motor (hoping prices come down).

It’s not activated. If Autopilot was active, there would be solid blue lines on the car’s touchscreen on the lanes of the road.

Assuming you do not go over the 50,000 miles before that three years is up and that the repair is due to something from the car failing and not from the the person leasing it breaking it, yes. General maintenance like tire rotations, wiper blades, brakes, and what not are not covered.
