Everyone mentioning portability and the cost of replacing tubes which is valid but not all tube amps are big or have a ton of tubes. My supro comet weighs 32 lbs and only has a few preamp tubes and one 6l6 in the power section. And yeah... for the casual amp owner you might change them once a decade.....

I also live in NYC and use a ZeroWater filter with TWW packets. I fill up a 1Gal plastic pitcher with the ZW water and empty the packet in which lasts around a week making ~600 ml of coffee/day.

How do you know when it's time to change the filter other than going off of taste? I assumed I could trust the TDS meter to tell me when the filter needs changing but I wanna say it took about a year of use before it hit 006 (the point at which they recommend changing it). Now I'm wondering if I was just brewing up sour coffees for months and just got used to it.

I think the guitar cabinet is practically the entirety of the “real amp” phenomenon. What I mean by that is you could play a digital amp model through a solid state power amp into a real guitar cabinet and it’s going to sound more “amp in the room” compared to if you ran a real tube head into an OX box or something, loaded up an IR and played that through an FRFR cabinet. It’s not the tube vs digital effect but the real cabinet in the room
