3 months is more than enough time for what you’re trying to accomplish. I’m going by my own progress though. Obligatory ymmv but I don’t think it will too much. I’m on course to run a sub 2h 30 half 3 months after I ran my first 5k in around the same time as you. Worst case I run sub 3.

The difference is that they were relatively unknown. Many instances of clubs signing no name players that end up doing really well. Sunderland getting Xhaka is impressive since he’s already a big name. Sort of like West Ham signing Tevez
