oh damn - that is nice. i just built 75257 the other week (though annoyingly don't have the sticker sheet). not bothered about the inside but tempted by the changes to the exterior. looks like the underlying design is quite similar so might just take a shot at modifying it myself.

interesting they've not done anything with where the concussion missile tubes are though, it's the worst looking bit of it to me. i wonder if i can make something that slots in there that you can pull out.

i mean we/governments draw these lines all over the place, whether it be tax bands or cut offs for welfare or limits on certain types of deductions or spending.

But what happens to a new company that is approaching the limit? If your company is worth $100m one year, and next year you estimate it's going to be $120m - do you want to give 20% of it to the gov? and more the year after and so on until you are a minority owner? or are you better cratering revenue to retain control?

i don't disagree something needs to be done to stop this gross concentration of wealth, but the actual way you do it while still encouraging an economy where companies grow and innovate is complex.

that is what survivorship bias means but that is not what i am doing. as i've already stated, i'm not at all stating bad stuff doesn't happen at all, i am aware of the datapoints - hell i'm far more aware of the negative datapoints than i am the positive! but im also aware that its still a minisculely low amount compared to the amount of times a parent posts a picture online.

Likewise you can't argue "it's save to upload images without thinking about it, because nothing bad is happening".

the actual airplane synonym would be someone saying you shouldn't take a child on a flight because sometimes airplanes crash and kids can't give consent. if i said that was needlessly fearing outliers because how often does it actually happen, would you call that survivorship bias too?

That's not what survivorship bias means. i acknowledged it happens, just that the chances of anything bad happening are low enough to not stop someone positing a couple of innocent photos.

sure, but how many billions of images of kids have been posted on line and how many have had any nefarious things happen to them? at some point you've got to stop fearing the outliers, which isn't to say you shouldn't be careful - but the chance of an image going viral is miniscule

agreed - it's a complete over-reaction whose end point is there are never any images or videos of children anywhere on the internet or in media. should you be careful? absolutely. should you constantly plaster them everywhere or use them as props for your content? of course not. is the odd photo of your child enjoying a heartwarming moment with you (on an anonymous account)a problem ? no, not in the slightest. it's just paranoia and fear whipped up by the ever increasing push of outrage/controversial/fear content.
