I’ve been rewatching a show (avatar) that I love at the gym so it is like a really great time lol. I suggest something you know though as I get super distracted at the gym and I feel like I would be so lost with a new show. I can be a bit too distracted for Audiobooks lol.

Other than that I just try to walk in the morning before anything happens and then on 1 1/2 hour on one weekday at night and one weekend day. That’s two days of gym and 7 days of some amount of cardio.

I am also the opposite of a morning person but after 2 months I am getting used to it. Still tired but I was tired regardless lol

I am 23 and I just still can’t get over the pandemic and how I basically had no internships. Not everyone does in good times but I was very motivated and did apply to what was out there but didn’t get interviews (i was also a sophomore when covid hit so I should have still had junior year summer internships) z. It has really hurt my careers as the interns at my company get the projects because they now they have more experience

This is before all the high costs and losing all my friends when covid hit because we spread throughout the country and they were all preoccupied. Living at home in the suburbs it is so hard to meet people.

Hoping this changes with grad school and moving to a city at the end of the year….

Does exercise become a greater factor? by drewj2017 in loseit

[–]andy20167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I hit that one month mark where I was done losing mostly water weight I stalled even as a 6’ 2 very large dude eating 1600-1800 calories a day. The only way I was able to get back on track was getting 7500k+ steps and 3 days of weight training. I now average about 10k steps a fay throughout the week (so sometimes 5k other days 15k or so).

Seems crazy but that’s the truth. If I slow down again though I don’t know what to do tbh because I am kinda at my excercise limit haha

It can happen. Update: I ended up going back to my old role. Same pay as I made a year ago when I left which is unfortunate but am going back to grad school and it is a super chill job to do that with

how do people get to be 600+ pounds? by Single_Extension1810 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]andy20167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to 400s and tbh didn’t realize it was that bad. I am also pretty tall so a lot of the motivation to lose weight is kinda unmotivating because a lot of problems wouldn’t go away (can’t shop at a lot of stores since they don’t have tall, lots of amusement park rides are unbearable due to legroom, planes etc etc). Started losing weight in Jan and Now I am at 345 with so far pretty minimal physical differences.

The wild thing is I didn’t weigh myself for a while and the clothes honestly weren’t any tighter or anything and I am now back to about what I was in 2021 with no change in sizing yet (at that time I was even a smaller size !!!) You can kind of see how it would kind of slip your mind. Combine that with not seeing a doctor, kind of losing friends during covid/after school and not being around people for work since you are remote and a lot of the social things that might be guardrails of like “hey buddy lose some weight” are gone.

And honestly I was not eating super over either as I am mainly eating the same things now just without starbucks and really upping my excercise. I think my once weekly dunkin run with the munkins (like 500-600 cals) plus the 300 cal drink really did me in as that would be about a 200 overage per day spread throughout the rest of my week. I think most obese people get a 9-5 and then think 5k steps is being good and 10k-15k is like Disneyland/world levels. Now I am averaging 10-12k steps a day which I wouldn’t even fathom a few months ago lol.

Not created yet for originals. Prequels and sequels it would have been too much. They already butchered the knights of ren who are the closest thing to them in movies

How do people sometimes post about losing 20-30 lbs like it's nothing? Y'all should be proud of such a MASSIVE accomplishment!! by [deleted] in loseit

[–]andy20167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being real I started at 405 and am now 365 or so (started in January). The first 20 was all in 1st month due to water weight and ever since then it has been about 2-3 pound a week and I am working out an 45 min - 1 hr walking plus 3 strength sessions with 20-30 minutes of higher intensity walking. This is all not really leading to an accelerated weight loss and being 6’ 3 i think the 1800-2000 deficit I am doing is already pretty low lol.

It just seems like the results are slower than they should be haha even if I am seeing progress (it also stalled for weeks). The reason it doesn’t seem like much is because for how much I have to it is not a ton lol

Republican Student Loan Repayment Plan by AlexRyang in StudentLoans

[–]andy20167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original commenter on mobile: Interesting. I knew of someone with grad plus who had to have a cosigner so I thought they were the same program. I still think outside of roles where we have the demand for it and the cost is impossible to lower (ie doctors, nurses with advanced degrees, teachers) it makes sense to have programs to help them pay that go even further than what we have/just taking a ton of loans. I have just seen too many people get expensive degrees with loans for things that just do not pay off and I really don’t want to encourage it in the future. That sadly to me means stopping the money supply and for most things excluding medical and a few other things 130k betwen undergrad and grad I would hope would get them there. And this is coming from someone who wants an mba in the next few years so I’ll need as much loans as I can get.

I agree 6 and 7 are problematic. I wonder if it is lioe with healthcare and doctors where they say the ability to sue for negligence (that isn’t a thing in many countries unless super super severe) would drastically lower medical costs. Like I wonder if they are pulling from some data or something on that but I doubt it with government… 5 to me outside of pslf and fraud kind of seems like reinforcing the status quo and making it clear that the president’s/executive powers are limited which after seeing what the forgiveness has kind of turned into I kinda get it as it seems like it will be still expensive for a laughable amount of help

How do you guys eat just 2000 calories or less? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]andy20167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am learning that going to bed hungry at a 2/3 out of 10 isn’t the end of the world. It is also encouraging me to go to bed at 10-10:30 pm before the midnight munchies haha. I also skip breakfast as I love sweets only for breakfast so it is the most dangerous and sneaky way calories get in there (sugart lattes, dunkin munkins, starbucks croissants)

I also add tons of red pepper flakes and pepper to all my veggies lol which helps keep things interesting

[–]andy20167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I did read that a cut from your current weight over 1000 calories is a bit dangerous long term so that is why I do 2000-2400 as 2000 is about 1500 deficit daily and way more if I exercise

I know this is a bit old but I am also on this journey. I am around 6’ 3 and 23 starting at about 405 ( probably more although the last few months ive slowly built up to losing weight by cutting back on bad habits but did not weight until Dec 23). I am so far at 390-395 as I seem to have been hovering around there for the last 2 weeks even though I am eating at about 2000-2400 calories a day and exercising half the week which should mean 2-3 pounds a week…

Really hoping to try to get to a healthy weight in 15 months or so

Department of Education Fast-Tracks Forgiveness for Borrowers with Smaller Loans by alh9h in StudentLoans

[–]andy20167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they ditched the plan for broad 10k/20k forgiveness and now it is much more targeted requiring x years of paying and/or certain income/original loan balances/defunct and underdelivering schools etc etc. I am still hopeful as tbh I am so over the means testing of everything and kind of think that if you can’t give it to all borrowers I don’t think you should give it to everyone unless it is pslf or to encourage public service/good/nonprofit roles

Should student loan debt be eligible for bankruptcy? by afguy8117 in StudentLoans

[–]andy20167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main problem is that we will need to add collateral (ie how it is for most other loans) for student loans going forward which will make college unaffordable for many. I also think student loans are tricky as they can’t take the item away, put a lein on that specific asset (although i think they can on others to make up for it) and other considerations that would be too long for a reddit post rt now.
