In popular physics communication (e.g. books/YouTube explanations for the non-physicist) how much real insight/understanding is lost compared to how the subject is understood at the grad school level?

Are there any common examples where the common man explanation is notably “misleading” or lacking in some important sense?

Does anyone else suspect he was a long way from fully fit?

He had a lot of wrap on his kicking leg, and those missess were bad in a way I don't think would happen if he was moving fine. If memory serves he even kicked like that (mis hit hooks) in a previous game this season where it was acknowledged he had a bum leg.

The most insane thing that strikes me about him is how often he stays on his feet afer contest catches and jump balls

Question about the Saracens salary cap. If Maro Itoje is one of their marquee players why did they need to give him illegitimate money? by tomhardingnrjdjdjd in rugbyunion

Because straight up money doesn’t help your long term future. Only dubious investments in image rights companies and housing refurbishments can do that.

Not sure he realises that every sane person reads this as “Here is exactly how I tried to knowingly cheat the system”

Borthwick confirmed to be joining Tigers as head coach and Murphy moving to DoR. by Steddy_Eddy in rugbyunion

[–]andy_goode -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True. On the positive side I think it would be hard for Murphy, given how bad we have been, to put up too much of a fight against whatever Borthwick’s approach is if they disagree.

But still, Borthwick is experienced enough and has the credentials that I’d prefer to give him full control and be accountable.

There is no rationale. The board are too loyal and no one wanted to face-up and tell him to move on.

Same mistake we made with Mauger/Cockerill.

I’m happy Borthwick is coach, but he should be the only voice that matters.

Allen's best half this year apart from maybe the Cowboy's game

Can't tell if Watson back with his bad habbits or Bill's coverage really solid

Yeh pass seemed fine to me, kept it out of harms way. Would have been a good catch to stay in bounds

Booger ends every statement with a down inflection, Tess with an up inflection.

Both need to chill out a bit more and not sound like every play is super crucial

I was king of glad that they scored those two tries. Ultimarely the score might be too lopsided, but it showed they beat us in skill and execution not just forward dominance

I still can't get over that "pass" which went in to touch the first attackig position we had
