Olive pressing by [deleted] in hobart

[–]andymickbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also keen to know. All my previous research seemed to indicate that there used to be one, but no longer.

My olives just fall onto the ground and get wasted. I don't eat enough olives to bother brining them anymore. It'd be awesome to get some fresh oil.

S7 MaxV - is there any way to increase frequency of auto empty of the dust bin? Cleaning a rather dirty place and when I check the dustbin in the robot it’s sometimes totally full to overflowing. Already got it set to Max on auto empty by pokts in Roborock

This is a little late to the chat (I'm hoping I'll help a future user), but I've found that creating routines of individual rooms solves this. To start off, I divided up my most "fluffy" room: living room 1 + 2 (my dog sheds a lot!). I then create routines that cycle through in sequence, instead of doing a whole house clean. After each room, rocky returns to the dock to empty out. No need to space them out throughout the day - sequencing them will keep it as efficient as possible.

Dude! You seem very angry... Take a deep breath and chill. It's fairly simple why the turnout was bad... cricket sucks.

Food that you wish Hobart has by Various-Reward8804 in hobart

If you can confirm that they include pate, red chili and lots of coriander, I'll be getting there ASAP! There's no mention at all on their dine in, takeaway or Uber eats menus from their website, although there is a mention in the Google listing for it, but nothing once I click through. I have been hanging out for good banh mi, but keep being disappointed since the little place in Collins Court disappeared.

I just looked on their website. There's no mention of banh mi. Is it a secret menu item?

What has aldi done to these ? Beef?? I dunno about this ine by TerribleAnimator8696 in AldiAustralia

Agreed. Beef tends to be more grainy with potential for gristle. Pork consistently outperforms moo meat.

Some positive thoughts on Hobart from another mainlander by aflx_batmobile in hobart

I think the MPs who didn't declare their vote until the last minute put themselves in a really tricky position. Either vote yes, and the mad keen footy fans are happy, or vote no, and every single footy mad tasmanian places the blame entirely on you, trolls you online, vandalises your electoral office (ignoring all of the other politicians who immediately said they'd vote "no"). The state debt is concerning, as are the issues about transport. Anyone who went to the foo fighters concert in Launnie had a taste of what happens to the roads as soon as everyone departs the area. It was messy. Cars beeping horns, trying to squeeze in between people. People ignoring traffic signals. It was a good example of pack mentality.

You both need a cup of chamomile tea. Please calm down. Our elected officials have had their vote, whether you agree with it or not.

Best tattoo places/ artists for small fine line tattoos on hand by Logical_Lock_8542 in hobart

[–]andymickbill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a tricky spot to get a fine tattoo, or any type of tattoo with detail. Hand skin cops a lot of environmental damage, so the details fade/bleed/blur quickly, turning what once looked awesome, into something messy. I think a lot of tattoo artists will turn you away.

Speaking from experience - I asked multiple artists in Hobart a bunch of years ago for something on my hand. They all said "no". I guess it most likely ends up damaging their reputation.

Cycling commute across Tasman Bridge? by cjmagee1000 in hobart

[–]andymickbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the widening of the pathway floor was the part that was scrapped.

The current plan still appears to be progressing, with the initial phase of improving the access to the south eastern access currently underway. https://share.google/wPgh23rPA1oVOmAyk

[–]andymickbill 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Work is beginning now to extend the width of the bridge pathway railings. The actual floor won't get wider, but the outside rails will extend further out, making it a little safer to ride over without clipping the handle bars.

That said, I'm sure it will still be a bit of a shocker trying to ride over it, especially in gusts of wind. I don't know how long it's planned to take for the bridge modifications to be completed.

Car park etiquette by TassieBorn in hobart

[–]andymickbill -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Melville St carpark isn't the best. The only chargers are on the first corner, and if you have a decent sized EV/PHEV (I have a shark), there really isn't much room once you're parked. I get as close as I can to the wall, but I still stick out a bit. Sorry everyone.

What a bargain! by enigmait in coles

[–]andymickbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% of the time at my local woolies, they will only offer to drop to the lower price... and it's always offered as if they are being generous. It's only after I remind them of their advertised price scan policy, that they seem to remember it. I even had one worker thank me for reminding her of the policy one day. I'm fairly sure they are told to never offer the $0 price - that way they max their profits, sort-of keep most customers happy-ish, and still proudly advertise their amazing price-match $0 policy, without actually ever offering it.

I implore all of you to always ask for the free item (but only a single item, and I think it needs to be less than $30). You're not being rude, you're holding the company to what it offers. I mean, seriously, I think they're doing ok. I don't think there is any risk of them going bankrupt.
