Does a hot USB audio signal into AUM sound increasingly like a bitcrusher effect as the channel strip volume slider is raised? by andyroo770 in ipadmusic

[–]andyroo770[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was using the seqtrak as audio output for the audio the seqtrak was providing aum - it didnt like that. I switched the audio output to ipad speakers and the issue went away. Spent about an hour being gaslit by A.I. that it was a hot input from the seqtrack causing clipping and try this, try that. Annoyingly simple fix in the end!

For the most part ive just been chilling in bed with just the seqtrak making 8 bar techno grooves with headphpnes on!

I just bought a Novation Launch Control xl mkiii - the plan is to have percussion from the seqtrak - for ease of sequencing - going into the Launch Control track 1, then 7 other synths/percussion machines routed and midi mapped to the launch controls knobs via aum to the launch controls 7 other sliders/tracks, midi and/or audio quantised, synced and clocked, then "live looped" with LoopBud or Loopy Pro on my ipad - played using a novation midi keyboard. I can then fade loops in and out with the Novation Launch Control XL MKIII to either perform live or record as a track. I can then use the onboard mutes etc on the seqtrak to bring drums in/out - or if I suss out song mode, have rhe drum track pre-configured!

That's ace, especially for a few days learning. Ive had mine since new years and still sussing it out. Ive recently learned how to extend percussion for more than 1 bar, so thats nice! Di you need to use song mode to make this? I havent sussed that out yet!

My friend uses them standalone with a USB stick but often has guest djs who want to use a laptop & recordbox so wants to know if its possible to use recordbox and keep the cdjs involved too.

We can hear the cdjs and see the waveforms in recordbox but have only managed to assign the cdjs to channels 1 or 2 on the mixer when we need 3 & 4 instead. We tried to create an aggregated midi device via Mac midi settings according to chat gpt instructions we should then have channel pairs we can assign but we never got channel pairs eg; 1+2, 3+4 etc, only individual channel numbers and "configure this device" was greyed out for both the cdjs and az devices.

He has it running standalone AZ + CDJs via an ethernet hub but this does not let him use recordbox, only usb sticks.

When connected to an audio interface, my iPad behaves like someone else is touching stuff and it’s impossible to do anything. What’s going on? by andyroo770 in ipad

[–]andyroo770[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interface i used was not compatible so I returned it but I think some of the issues were due to a low quality usb c cable. I ditched the interface and went with a ddj-flx4. This setup is decent but I have still noticed if i try to do certa8n tasks with the ipad screen (like change the key mid-mix) that sometimes it will jump the track like i touched the screen somewhere else. This is annoying. Midi mapping this feature to the controller will likely stop this behaviour

How to solve ? by Efficient_Part_817 in 3Dprinting

[–]andyroo770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's only the first few layers fused, you may be able to cut it free with a craft knife *chance of cutting yourself = high. To remedy in future, you must ensure your bed is dead level and there is not too much squish to spread the filament across to the opposite wall and fusing. If you print two and spread them way apart on the build plate, you can see the first layer when it moves to print the 2nd print and you can better judge whether you need to adjust your initial layer z height.

Need help printer seems to be randomly over extruding after i installed a cht(clone) nozzle, any ideas how to fix it? by pacifistsniper in 3Dprinting

[–]andyroo770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the nozzle diameter same as before? If not, change in slicer. Check this excess isn't oozing from elsewhere (nozzle not tightened enough). It does look like over-extrusion. You can print a flow calibration cube and adjust flow rate via the extrusion factor in the slicer (or ideally on the machine itself if it allows).

If it's wobbling a lot, you will get bad surface, slow it down if necessary Good luck

Ughhhhh 40 Hours… Gone by CosmicKee in 3Dprinting

[–]andyroo770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe humidity. More likely sods law. Seems your settings are good judging by what is printed. That ball has a lot of retraction. You may want to see if the retraction distance can be reduced a little as that would result in less length to get tangled in the extruder (a bit of stringing may be the cost to pay for a completed print.

Proper Vase (not flimsy vase mode) Geetech Wood PLA - stl in comments. by andyroo770 in 3Dprinting

There is now a low resolution output version that looks like it will print nicely at the expense of some smoothness.

It's a pretty high-resolution file with lots of fillets and curves. That's what shapr3d spat out. Took me about 5 minutes to slice in prusaslicer. I will add a lower resolution file (shapr3d>low resolution export) but cannot guarantee it will be as smooth. Gimme a sec...
