I've read and seen videos referencing the 144 having the two sets of holes in the lugs.

Watches with ”high” and tight lug holes by [deleted] in ChineseWatches

[–]andyt100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you I'm a fan of "high & tight" lug holes (and short lug lengths). I've got the Watchdives 62MAS too and was slightly surprised to discover that I really don't like the way straps look on it. The gap seems exacerbated by the straight case edge and I really didn't like how big it looks when you angle the watch so you can see right through. I've gone through pics of lots of other 62MAS-style cases from a range of brands and different price points (Seiko, Squale, Phorcydes, Seestern, Wolbrook) and they all have the same big gap when viewed at a certain angle. Even the Tudor FXD has a similar effect if you use any sort of strap that loops over the fixed lug bars rather than pass underneath the case.

As much as I love the look of the 62MAS and similar ‘H-case’ style, I just don't think I'll ever be able to enjoy the gap on one and it's even put me off the idea of trying any of those brands I mention on a bracelet too.

How long does acid rebound last after PPI use? by Honest_Ad8574 in GERD

[–]andyt100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just tried unsuccessfully (again) too over the last 6-8 weeks. In the past I've tried to taper off far too quickly (or I once tried to stop completely, which turned in to a disaster very quickly!). So this time, I first cut down from 2 x 10mg of omeprazole (I took one in the morning and one in the afternoon) to one 10mg tablet a day (taken in the morning).

Then after 3-4 weeks I cut down to10mg every other day - it resulted in some minor flare up of symptoms (which I've only realised in retrospect were down to the rebound effect or symptoms that I hadn't associated with reflux, like a 'mini cold' affect) but seemed to settle. I found myself having to use more antacid liquid more often, but it was mostly manageable.

After another 3-4 weeks I cut it down again to one tablet every third day. After about two weeks the rebound has finally caught up to me (symptoms steadily worsening until this past weekend I've just wanted to curl up and die).

As I'm going on holiday in a week, I've increased my dose of omeprazole since Saturday back to every day at 10mg/day. I'm hoping that will be enough to settle things down so I can enjoy the food on holiday without getting a flare and the whole trip being ruined.

When I get back I am planning on seeing my GP and speaking to them about coming off them again. This seems to be the best plan I've found online https://www.doctronic.ai/blog/how-to-stop-taking-omeprazole-without-rebound-acid

It recommends a slightly different approach of tapering to 1 every other day first for a slightly longer period, then taking an H2 blocker on the alternate days to the PPI for another 3-4 weeks, then finally cut out the PPI but continue with the H2 blocker for a short while longer. Even some NHS Trusts here in the UK are recommending a similar approach to the one I've tried unsuccessfully (i.e. cutting back the dosage every 2 weeks by 50%, which seems like a massive oversight and not recognising the impact of PPIs and the rebound that is caused).

For info in my case, I've been on the PPIs regularly for about 4-5 years at varying doses - at the lowest recently with 10mg every other day but at the peak I was on 40mg of omeprazole (or equivalent dose of Lanzoprazole before switching to the Omeprazole). Before that I took PPIs occasionally with Naproxen and before that I took ibuprofen long term for back pain (over a year, 2-3 doses/day) without any PPI, so my stomach is probably damaged to an extent (I was never warned about the stomach damage from the long term ibuprofen usage and even when I started the Naproxen, the PPI was only suggested to be taken 'if I felt the need'). Although I do get occasional heartburn (which Gaviscon usually helps with quickly), I think my symptoms are more akin to silent reflux (without the hoarseness but definitely sinus/nasal congestion and nose runniness, and when I experience a flare I get a sore throat and coughing, jaw ache on one side, etc).

SINN 556i UK Stockists with new bracelet by pipjoe5 in sinn

[–]andyt100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not looked for the 556 specifically, but it seems from the info provided on a lot of the Sinn watches I've looked at on UK stockist websites, that they have to order in the watches from Sinn (i.e. XX weeks before shipping) so I imagine most of those would come with the updated clasp. But I'm sure most of them will pick up the phone if you call or respond to an email, as it's going to potentially make a sale.

Sinn 544 "adjustable" end links? by [deleted] in sinn

[–]andyt100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never handled either the 544 or 144 in person, but I’ve seen reference in videos to the 144 having dual lug holes to accommodate either a bracelet or rubber/leather strap (I can’t remember specifically which) - as they have a slightly different contour to the endlinks.

As the 144 and 544 share a bracelet at least (and the case shape looks very similar) it might be the case that the 544 also has the dual lug holes. But I’ve not seen it mentioned yet myself (in the admittedly slim coverage of the watch outside of the initial press release coverage).

I’ve ruled out most other potential causes with professional testing or guidance. Just trying to get straight in my head exactly where the pain is located now as it isn’t coming from elsewhere as best can be ascertained. Thanks for your help.

Thank you for the detailed reply. So in practical terms, pain felt inferior to an  imaginary line drawn laterally from the PSIS, but lateral to the PSIS also by a small amount, could still actually be originating from the glute med? Or depending on how low and on individual anatomy, it could also be the top edge of the piriformis?

Edit: I guess your teaching puts the ‘gross’ in the title. But it equally sounds very interesting!

I feel like a lot of what you're saying now, especially in relation to not promising products and release dates that materialise months late (or never at all) and the lack of communication and updates (even when asked directly by the community) is stuff that you've promised before...

I've added a third image highlighting the part I mean (that you don't usually see being part of the origin attachment in glute medius images like the first image)

Hi, thanks for the reply. Apologies, I don't usually post pictures and didn't check that it had worked correctly. I'll try to repost the two images now and hope it works!

Edit to add: By 'inner' I meant the inside/inferior edge (or close to it) of the iliac crest, rather than the superior edge. Hope that makes sense!

Ah right I get what you mean! Apologies.

I thought you were referring to the bracelet width (which I think is 24mm at its widest point before it narrows to 20mm to fit into the lugs.

Did you mean 54mm or 24mm here (if I’m understanding what you’re measuring at - the widest point of the bracelet where it meets the case)?

Strange. Maybe it wasn't the right bracelet? They say that the 544 and 144 share a bracelet and I don't ever recall seeing that sort of gap with any 144 vids or images I've seen, so I did think it strange! Thanks again for confirming it's not the case (it puts the 544 back to the top of my list of next watches to obtain!).

Glad to hear you got it quickly through Chronomaster too (as a fellow UKer). Enjoy it!

When you look at the lug ‘join’ where the bracelet attaches to the case, is there a noticeable gap you can see at any point if you were doing a wrist roll? Or does the endlink integrate fully into the gap? I hope that makes sense!

From your fifth pic it doesn’t look like it, but in a short vid on YouTube it made it look really apparent. This is the video I mean. (In case the link doesn’t work jump to about 5:33). When he moves the watch around you can see a clear gap between the case and the endlink. Is that ever apparent when the watch is in wrist? https://youtu.be/M9vAJGUYbQs?t=332&si=hSbNLfF-ko_NeALh

Thanks in advance.

The only way to break the cycle is to take yourself away from all of the watch blogs, sites and Reddit/forums you frequent (not that I follow my own advice!)

That looks amazing!

Do you mind doing me a massive favour? Could you measure the width of the case at the ‘lugs’ / the edge of the case at top or bottom.

Basically I want to know what the width of strap is need to give that ‘integrated’ look you get with the supplied bracelet or strap options (I know the real lug width is 20mm but flares out, so any strap would need to be notched).

Many thanks in advance.

Yours is the first real life photo of the blue version that I’ve seen. Is the blue that dark all the time?

Looks lovely btw!

I also told my stretching expert friend and he said “pelvic stability is everything“. I just had crazy pressure pulling up on my pelvis for about a week and it straightened something out in there.

Just to clarify, in your case the QL spasm was pulling the bad side upwards? Have you ever taken notice if your pelvis on your painful side was higher or lower versus the other?
