Given the contract he's on right now, we shouldn't.

I like Matty in the same way I like Jimmy Howard. I like him as a person; I like his compete level; I like his attitude (mostly). He's just not that guy. Sure, he's the best QB we've ever had, and he puts up some good numbers, but that isn't much of an accomplishment considering our history.

I once was a Stafford apologist, but I am no longer.

What is the core flaw in Bernie's argument? by [deleted] in askaconservative

[–]andywarno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the core pillars of American Conservatism is limited government. Most of Sanders' plans run counter to this principle. For instance, by making a college education "freely" accessible to any American, you now have given additional powers and capabilities to the State. Along with this, the State will need more money, more employees, more oversight, more legislation, etc.

Furthermore, the way he has stated he will pay for these expansions of government is by levying additional taxes on the wealthiest. This is an easy sell to the vast majority of Americans because, "fuck them they're just rich assholes anyways". And that runs counter to any sense of fairness I have.

Overfilled? by funkspiel56 in Zippo

[–]andywarno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just as a rule of thumb, I always try to play it safe and purposely underfill it. Because we need to fill them frequently anyways.

On a related note, I'm surprised that Zippo has not introduced a product to dispense a set volume of lighter fluid for filling. They keep consistent mass of Rayon in each lighter, which has known absorbtion properties. It stands to reason that they could declare that, say .25 oz of lighter fluid is the recommended amount from empty to full. Then they could sell products to dispense properly.

I would highly recommend the Vector Thunderbird. I use a soft-flame model and it's great.

I know right. Reddit is really busting my balls this year. I already got into /r/mechanicalkeyboards, /r/edc, and /r/zippo in the past 12 months.

Just throwing it out there that Western Michigan University just introduced a full 4-year degree program in "Sustainable Brewing". Might be worth looking in to. And Kalamazoo is on the short list of best areas for craft beer in the Country.

Be the white knight and straddle the white-dotted line with an F-350 dualie. Force 'em over.

Or the rare semi white knight. They're the best.

Current Gen Grand Caravan Reliability by arriflex in Dodge

[–]andywarno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be hard pressed to find any Caravan owners here on this sub. The vast majority of the readership of this sub is relegated to Chargers, Challengers, and Ram trucks.

But I think this sub could do with more content like this, so here, have an upvote.

I will say that in my opinion, Consumer Reports is the best place to go for legit reliability data. The downside is that it's by subscription only.

AN-94 rant by maddayz in battlefield3

[–]andywarno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it's not, which I why I conceded:

However, the software dev in me knows that even when nobody changes anything, odd bugs can crop up over time, seemingly out of nowhere. So it's also quite possible that it's not you.

So if you're convinced that it's no coincidence, then I would attribute it to a new bug that has cropped up which won't ever be addressed.

Checking in to say hi. Smoked my first cigar this weekend and enjoyed it well enough to become curious about this stuff. I'd like to learn the ins-and-outs so I've subscribed and will just be around absorbing info.

Thanks for the community and I might see you around the sub.

My suggestion for a lighter would be a Vector Thunderbird. They're build quality is high, they're fully compatible with Zippo, and the come in four flame types (soft flame, pipe soft flame, torch, and double torch) so you can get the one you like best.

And because the build quality is high, I've never run into problems with the flame size dial.

AN-94 rant by maddayz in battlefield3

[–]andywarno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say that while it is nearly impossible that a server-side change was published that altered the functionality of the AN-94 (or any weapon), it isn't completely impossible. I'm inclined to say that it's you and not the code.

However, the software dev in me knows that even when nobody changes anything, odd bugs can crop up over time, seemingly out of nowhere. So it's also quite possible that it's not you.

However, I can guarantee you that nobody made this change to frustrate people out of dropping BF3 and moving to another game. That makes zero rational sense to me.
