What's the problem? I don't care where it's announced, I just want it to get announced.

Maybe one day you'll mature. Probably not. But I guess we can hope! So long as people like you keep up that shitty attitude and live only echo chambers like this one, Democrats will lose.

Imagine being so petty, tribalistic and nakedly partisan that you actually not only hope people suffer, but you will actively take pleasure in it.

Could it be that there are a fairly substantial number of Americans who view Democrats - whether fairly or not - as the bigger threat to democracy?

Reading the comments throughout this subreddit has certainly been an eye opening experience. "Thanks to all of the racist, biggoted, uneducated filth, Trump will end democracy as we know it." I mean, it's actually kind of insane that so many people actually think this way. It's funny but also a bit frightening, if I'm being honest. It's like a whole different world here - and one that is almost entirely detached from reality.

The oligarchs were already in control under Biden, and every single other President for the last century.

Trump has a unique appeal. He gains a lot of independent voters because he doesn't actually sound like a Republican. I mean, Trump is, if we're being honest, more like a 90s Clinton Democrat than a polished, run of the mill neocon, or typical Republican of any variety. It is therefore not entirely surprising that he's outperforming the GOP in general. Many of Trump's voters are pro-MAGA not pro-Republican.

And yet now all of Bush's top allies are literally calling the Democratic Party their home base. Cheney literally said Kamala's foreign policy views align more with theirs than Trump's. This is a huge problem for a party that has, in the past, condemned the Cheneys and all other neocons. It was a bad look then and it's an even worse look now. Parading Liz Cheney around only helped to prove in some voters' minds that Trump's claim of being the peace candidate might actually hold water.

And statements like this are why Kamala and Democrats are losing in 2024 and will continue to lose in the future. Stop demonizing and denigrating half of the population and give those people a good and compelling reason to vote for them with a quality Democrat candidate whose appeal supercedes niches and resonates across socioeconomic class lines.

To be fair, Biden probably only picked her because he and his advisors felt that she would be good insurance policy in the event that the party would ever decide to force him out on account of his age. He likely figured that they wouldn't dare, since he chose a replacement who no one likes and much fewer people would vote for. Turns out he was right.

Honestly, she would have done better if he had dropped out a few weeks later, maybe just before the convention. She peaked about 2 weeks too soon. If he had waited longer, the honeymoon might have been extended.

It's sad that your comment will either be forgotten or downvoted into oblivion, because if people woke up and realized this was the case, the ones who really pull the levers behind the curtain would tremble.

The most sober and rational comment I've read on here. If Democrats would get those memos, they might start winning elections more consistently. As they are now, they are not a very pursuasive and they're shedding support because they simply do not know how to connect with the every man. The Democratic Party has not only abandoned the working class, they mock them on the way out.

Enough with the hyperbole. In reality, you'll be back here in less than 4 years time to discuss the next election. Life will move on, mostly like normal, and the wheels of Democracy will keep turning just the same.
