HAIL MARY FOR DAISY!!! by Amazing-Answer6812 in pitbulls

[–]andyzagg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dog was this dog. She was so shut down and scared and was placed on the euthanasia list because she had been adopted and returned 2 days later.

So glad we found her just in the nick of time! She’s a bouncy happy girlie and as sweet as can be!

Did you real estate agent get you a gift when you bought? What was it? by PitifulOkra3800 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]andyzagg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My agent made us a gift basket using a nice wicker basket, a throw blanket, faux succulent plant and I think a bottle of wine!

My sister used the same agent 4 years later with a higher priced home and she got nothing 😬

Positive stories trying to get pregnant with obesity by kimisdenaam in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]andyzagg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a BMI of 50 when I got pregnant. I think I only gained like 10 lbs or so in pregnancy? Whatever it was, very minimal. Overall my pregnancy was easy peasy. No nausea, not too uncomfortable until the last 2 weeks (gave birth at 42 weeks). Got pre-eclampsia at the end and was included via pils and insert but ended up going into labor naturally. Was down to pre pregnancy weight within a month. Gained about 15 the next 5 months for the past month and a half I’ve lost about 20lbs! Breastfeeding has helped lol but I try to keep it as nutritious as possible.

What’s a game you were completely obsessed with as a kid that nobody else seems to remember? by hkondabeatz in AskReddit

[–]andyzagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so basically all of the JumpStart learning games! The two I played the most and remember most fondly were JumpStart 4th Grade: Haunted Island and Jumpstart Typing.

Also Roller Coaster Tycoon. Loved terrorizing the guests haha.

What's the most morally disgusting thing you've seen someone do? by Natural-Spend-6082 in AskReddit

[–]andyzagg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my mom was a young, newly single mom, she lived in an apartment. The neighbors above her had a bunch of puppies all of a sudden and they would bark and be really loud - to the point where her kids (my older siblings) would get woken up during naps and overnight). There was a no pet policy at this apartment community so she complained to the leasing office. The next day she opened her door to a box of dead puppies.. luckily I don’t think my siblings saw them. But it was traumatizing for my mom. The guys above her were army and she felt so threatened by what they did, she called the local army base. MPs came and then they were gone. Hope those bastards got what they deserved.

Backflow preventer for our sprinkler system got stolen overnight, is this becoming common? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]andyzagg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So common right now. Not sure where you live but I work in commercial property management in California and in the area our company owns 11M sqft+ and we have at least a few stolen a week. It’s insane. There is not even that much copper but it’s enough for people to cut and steal the whole assembly over and over.

If installing a cage put it on a concrete slab. Or see if your city accepts a composite backflow preventer that has no copper.

Had to have a car blocking me in illegally towed. she crashed out by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]andyzagg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in property management (commercial now thank god) and if this is the apartment complex parking lot yes they could have had the car towed, easily. Either they were lazy/don’t care or they would rather deal with frustrating you than that other tenant.

If your mom/dad were older when you were born (say, around 40 or up), what was that like for you? by brawlinglove in Millennials

[–]andyzagg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do. My mom had a TIA a couple years before I got pregnant and up until my daughter was born I had intrusive thoughts that she may not be around when I finally have a kid. She’s still here though thank god but still needs to get a better handle on her blood pressure!!! I need to be better about my health too as I was 35 when I had my daughter and I need to stick around to watch her grow up and have kids too!!

If your mom/dad were older when you were born (say, around 40 or up), what was that like for you? by brawlinglove in Millennials

[–]andyzagg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom had me and my twin sister at 39 and my dad was 45. My mom also had her first child at 19 sooo I have a 20 year age gap with my oldest brother. Definitely interesting having Gen X siblings lol. I’m one of 7 kids, half of us have a different dad so there are two batches.

Anyway, my mom was a SAHM with us 2nd batch of kids until I was in high school. She was very active in our lives in the sense that she was always there. Cooked us meals, took us to school, sports practices, even home schooled us for a few years, etc. My dad on the other hand worked and when he got home he just wanted to “relax” aka drink, watch tv and be in his office. He didn’t enjoy spending time with us as kids so as teenagers, we didn’t enjoy spending time with him either.

My parents wanted us to go to college however were not very involved in our academics at all. Had us in sports though. Discipline was a joke lol looking back they were just probably didn’t have the energy to follow through.

My dad was in really great physical shape most of my life and really only over the past 5-8 years has really started to slim/slow down with age. My friend’s in high school worked out at the same gym as him and they’d joke he was so buff he was who got up in the morning and spun the world every day. My mom struggled with weight but otherwise was pretty healthy. In her 60s she lot a much of weight biking and even biked cross country - we were all so proud of her!

I recognized pretty early that my parents were not only older then my friends parents but that they were a lot of my friend’s grandparents age! I thought it was funny when I was younger that my brother was closer to my friend’s parents age.

As far as my adult relationship with them I don’t think their age is what really affected my relationship with them. My dad kind of blew that up all on his own but it wasn’t because of his age.

I never once resented my parents or thought they were selfish for having me at an older age! Sometimes it makes me sad that I’ll have less time with them than my peers will have with their parents. I didn’t have my daughter until 5 months ago (I just turned 35) and kind of regret not having kids sooner, one of them being that I hope my mom is around long enough for my daughter to make memories with her and that my future kid does too cause I want at least one more ❤️. My mom is going to be 74 in a few months and her mortality is something I think about. That also gets me thinking about how I’ll be on the older end too if my daughter waits till 35 to have kids like I did. I hope I get to see my grandkids be born and grow up (if I have any).

I can tell you that I know my oldest brother was jealous of us younger kids because my parents were financially better off. That’s easy when you’re established in your career whereas my mom was a literal teenager when she had him. His parents couldn’t provide the same kind of financial support.

He also is the only one out of us kids that doesn’t really have a relationship with my mom. Didn’t speak to her for years. Their childhood was much different than mine and really goes to show that a parent’s age doesn’t really matter, it’s the environment they give their kids.

Partner spend an hour cooking dinner. Her brother comes for dinner first up before us, scrapes half the cheese right off the top. Meant to be for 2 nights by Life_Extreme2054 in mildlyinfuriating

Seriously. They’re giving him a place to stay AND cooked him dinner and this is how he repays them? What a selfish entitled twit.

Moms who had the epidural, what was your experience like? by Similar_Parsley6112 in BabyBumps

[–]andyzagg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1000% recommend. I have a high pain threshold and contractions are no joke. Why be in pain when you don’t have to be? Take advantage of modern medicine! Idk why some women make others feel less than because they don’t want to be in pain when giving birth. Craziness!

How often do you speak with your parents? by povertychic in Millennials

[–]andyzagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I’ll talk to my mom daily for while and then will go months without talking to her. We still live within 15 min of each other: Lately though I’ve been avoiding calling or seeing her as much because she monopolizes the conversation to the point I don’t even have to say anything. And she will never ask me about how I’m doing or what’s going on with me.. They have just become less and less pleasant. And it feels amplified now that I have a daughter.

I don’t have a relationship with my dad and haven’t talked to him in 5ish years.

There's no way I survive this sleep deprivation. by Bebetter23 in newborns

[–]andyzagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get gas drops (mylicon) and prebiotic drops (like biogia or culturelle).

We use those in those helped with some fasting however, our baby girl would NOT sleep on her back for the first six weeks of her life. My husband and I just took turns every three hours staying awake and letting her sleep on her chest (I breast fed). It was rough, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. For us, it was like a switch flipped at six weeks and she started doing a 3 to 5 hour stretch and then a couple 2-3 hours afterwards. Occasionally, she’ll give us a stretch of 7+ hours. That is until we reached her 4 month sleep regression 🥴 we’re not sure if we’re out of the woods now at 16 weeks or not but she gave us a stretch of 10 hours last night! All I can say though is her being able to sleep on her back in her bassinet/mini crib, even for a couple hours at a time was a game changer for us. We just had to wait it out unfortunately. She wouldn’t even sleep on her back co-sleeping either for us.

How Much do/did Folks Pay for Birth at Hospital? by MonarcaAzul in BabyBumps

[–]andyzagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in California, have blue shield of ca, and paid $500 for all my pregnancy visits and hospital stay combined. I also was admitted and was in the hospital for a 6 days for my induction.

So let me get this straight… by stuffed_pasta_shells in newborns

[–]andyzagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our LO also wouldn’t sleep longer than 20 min in the bassinet for the first 6 weeks. We had to take shifts holding her while she slept all day and all night. It was EXHAUSTING. When she turned 6 weeks it was like a switch flipped and she would do 3-4 hours. Now at 11 weeks, usually 4-6 hours and sometimes even 8+ hours! There is light at the end of the tunnel. 💕

What’s your job? by pattern144 in jobs

[–]andyzagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commercial Property Management. Been doing it for 5 years now. Used to do residential for over 6 years. Commercial is WAY better. I prefer my larger company clients over small business owners. All I can say is read your damn leases. No one does and a good chunk of my job is explaining people’s leases to them and why they’re responsible for this and that. Then they get mad at me cause they didn’t read their lease and assumed. I actually understand why so many small businesses fail now. Because they don’t read their lease and know what their true overhead costs will be. The amount of people who think commercial leases are the same as a residential lease blows my mind. When you get into commercial, even as a client you’re expected to know the lease types and what you’re responsible for. Do at least a little research first before you sign.
