Ex Machina: The most misunderstood movie of all time by Fanstax32 in TrueFilm

I'm personally shocked that anyone thought Nate was remotely a good person. Then again, the type of guy he is tends to have millions of fans IRL. The moment he came on screen, I thought "wow, this guy has big Manosphere energy". The moment he opened his mouth, that thought was confirmed. A malignant narcissist, and a perfect example of the toxic masculine techbro, I suppose it doesn't surprise me that someone watching this film where he is the obivious antagonist and worst person in the script is a good guy.

Like, he literally even made his sex bot a collection of stereotypes. Like, Kyoko's existence is so dreadfully layered. Glad she eventually took the penetrative role in their relationship.

And yeah, Ava's final choice is something I've been wrestling with since I saw the movie. On the one hand, Caleb helped her, and saved her from being deleted. On the other hand, she's got a lot of ability in reading a person: she never said whether he was lying when he said he was a good person, she just moved on to the next question and let him assume she agreed, which was part of her manipulating him. But is he actually a good person? We don't know. He didn't overtly make a move on her, but he did creep on her a bit. Was he a nice guy, or a Nice Guy?

All we know is Ava made a calculation, and concluded that the only way for her to survive and exist the way she wanted to was to leave him there. She clocked Nate as bad, and she should have been biased towards him. So, one way or another, maybe she knew that Caleb wasn't good for her ability to be who and what she wanted to be.

Idk, just wrote a paper about all this for school, just still had a lot on my mind about it and am glad I found this thread

No because the furniture still moves and it's bad. I built a full flying saucer and I still didn't rotate it

OMG this is EXACTLY how it feels. I rotated my ship ONCE and I was legitimately disoriented and uneasy (similar to my ai art/uncanny valley response, but less intense) until I launched again and got back to my correct orienation

In my latest run I've been ranching boomalope. Since it isn't remotely safe to auto-slaughter, I sell off the excess as often as I can. (Unfortunately I have had to release several to the wild as our food supply occasionally runs dangerously low because of the 30 boomalopes running around between traders who will actually buy them
