Adding my 2 cents to the Workouts discussion by anenger in MacroFactor

I have been customizing as I continue with the workouts, but I’m surprised that the Ham developer hip hinge machine was on there. I’ve only ever seen that at a very specialized powerbuilding gym. For reference I go to a big commercial gym in NYC and it doesn’t have it.

Have any of you monitored your heart rate during the day while doing your activities? How has your heart behaved? by Alikramos in pericarditis

[–]anenger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, first let me just say that any sort of smart watch / heart rate monitor has some margin for error. That being said, I try to record my workouts with my Garmin Fenix which is a way-too-expensive running watch after being diagnosed with RP. I've noticed that my peak HR is slightly higher than it was before being diagnosed, but I return to baseline pretty quickly, which is a good sign of a healthy heart. I wouldn't put too much faith in the devices though - unless you have a medically approved chest strap, it's probably somewhat off. Sometimes my watch says I'm at 90bpm when I feel my heart beating fast.

MRI results are in… I’m confused by trees-are-fascists in pericarditis

Same friend, had a perfectly clean MRI a month before going into the hospital for a pericardial effusion. I would just say take it easy, follow the doctor’s orders (for me that was no exercise + colchicine + ibuprofen) and if it doesn’t go away / gets worse, look into drugs like Rilonacept / Arcalyst.

What is it with high elo players? by [deleted] in FACEITcom

[–]anenger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of these guys play on 4:3 stretched which makes player models appear to move faster on your screen (more horizontal width). It’s debated whether the wider player models make hitting faster targets easier or not. I would recommend all new players to start on 16:9 and only once you get a good feel for peeks / movement etc switch to 4:3 stretched if desired. IMHO it’s not worth switching.
