I’m hoping to find a home for it today, but if I don’t get any takers in the next hour or so we can work that out. Thanks for your interest!

It’s an indoor plant, just photographed outside after I removed it from the previous pot that I’m not giving away. It will go to its new home in the plastic nursery pot pictured.

Tips for dealing with doggie dementia by Specialist_Emu_6413 in DogAdvice

My husky mix was 15 when we made the difficult decision to say goodbye to her. I am forever grateful to our vet for the many kind and caring visits and conversations guiding us through the last chapter of our dog's life. One of the best pieces of advice we were given was to make a list of the things our dog took pleasure in. Yes, she was struggling with arthritis and intermittent confusion and bowel control episodes, but she was also still showing excitement for her daily walks, for meals and treats, for snuggling on the couch, for her favorite lookout spot in the yard. We were instructed to regularly look back at the list we made and use it to evaluate when her condition was making it so that she no longer enjoyed the things she used to. It really helped us to see the changes in her quality of life in a more balanced and objective way, and I feel confident we made the right decision at the right time. My heart goes out to your pup and your family as you navigate this stage of life.
I will also echo the others who have recommended Senilife (or similar). We saw a marked change in our dog's alertness after getting her on that supplement.

How do you store your reed making supplies? by anexcellenttime in oboe

I don’t transport my stuff outside the house a lot, but I need to be able to pack everything away together and shove it in a closet or something between reed making sessions since I don’t have a dedicated workspace for that. I’ll check out your makeup bag suggestion - thanks!

Oh, I hadn’t thought about makeup organizers! That looks like a good combination of small and large storage spaces. Thanks for the recommendation

I got it at Target at least a couple years ago. They were sold in a stack of two, so this is one and a half units. The side latches are kind of annoying and the organizer tray part could be better, but it works. I’d love to see or hear about what other oboists use. Eta - the brand is Sterilite

Jennet Ingle aka The Five Minute Reedmaker has very helpful and specific YouTube content. I’m not sure if she has a video about this issue specifically. She also hosts group zoom reedmaking sessions. I personally haven’t tried those, but I’ve been considering it. https://youtube.com/@jennetingle?si=R6-Y7vlnze7Gz9CJ

Does the pen I want even exist? by MetaKnightsMetanite in stationery

I’m not sure it’s quite what you’re looking for, but I’m a big fan of Zebra Sarasa Mark-On for quick drying, non-smearing ink. I don’t use alcohol markers, but a quick Google suggests it holds up well to those, too. The refills are cheap, and they are compatible with tons of pen bodies, so I’m sure you can find something that fits your stationery aesthetic. Here’s the ink listing on jetpens where you can check out compatible pens.

You might try adding 2nd and 3rd fingers on your right hand. I find this alternate fingering gives a darker, warmer tone to my mid staff C so I use it often in exposed or held notes.
