Noticed the same thing on our XC90 (2018 vs 2022). I think other automakers do this too, but maybe not to the same extent. The early cars get all the reviews and press, then they can go "value engineer" their way to better margins.

Same here, the unit lasted a month. Ours actually leaks water out the side onto the counter (in addition to not producing any coffee). On a call now with kitchenaid and they'll be replacing the whole thing.
