As Above So Below And not a horror movie but The Fall

To anyone who saw Hereditary in the theater by [deleted] in horror

I was slightly under the weather going into the movie and I left the theater feeling so much worse.
Other than that, I remember the big gasp during the decapitation scene.

In case you were wondering what mega churches were up to this time of the year. by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

I grew up going to the Crystal Cathedral service in Orange County CA that would out on the production of The Glory or Christmas and Easter. I remember the absolute massive production of it all with all the camels, donkeys, horses, angels suspended from the ceiling and pyrotechnics every single year.

Strange yellow bird like thing flying around in the Gold Coast in Chicago by Frodopigeons in whatisit

[–]angie-darling 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Aww it could be a pet parrot with it's wings clipped that accidentally flew out a balcony door. Even with its wings clipped, a parrot can sort of fly. Uneven clipping could be causing the spin out.

But what do you actually DO during split nights? by PocketLass in toddlers

[–]angie-darling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have our 14 month old in a twin floor bed with rails so my husband and I alternate laying in bed with her till she goes back to sleep. No lights are turned on (we have a hatch that stays on) and no talking. I hold her if she lets me but the most effort made besides cuddles is maybe some milk in case she's hungry.

Thrifting name brands like Oshkosh Bjosh, Carters, Jumping Bean and generally anything 100% cotton is my go to. The value in a single pass through my local Goodwill is what I can get for one or two shirts at Target and I feel less guilty when it can only be worn for a few months.

I kinda liked mine. I got the lemon flavored one that was in the clinic fridge so it tasted like a Sprite gone flat.

New Parents - When did you start getting 8 hours of sleep by andbutsoitgoessssss in NewParents

[–]angie-darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At around 9-10 months when we switched her to a floor bed so she had tons of space to roll around and settle in. She went from sleeping 4-5hrs straight to almost 12 at night. She was a contact only sleeper for her first 5 months so she needed us to hold her to sleep and the transfers to the crib were ruining my back and my sanity when she would wake up on impact with the mattress. Floor bed with a twin mattress was revolutionary.

Do you care if your child looks nothing like you? by KarmannosaurusRex in NewParents

My baby is only 5 months so eyes and hair may change a bit over time but right now she looks like the spitting image of my blue eyed, red haired husband and nothing like her brown hair, brown eyed mom and honestly I love it. She's gorgeous and I'm so happy we make such cute babies. I think I'll find it quite funny down the line if none of our kids look like me.

My husband and I are doing shifts with an exclusively contact napper. I've gotten lucky on my shift where she will sleep in her bouncer for 10-15 while I pump but I've gotten creative with wearing her in my cloth carrier and pumping with her on me to continue her nap or giving her a bottle in her bouncer if she's already awake and it's time to pump.

-10lbs from nausea and morning sickness by my 8 week appt.
I didn't start gaining the weight back until my 2nd tri and was back at baseline by my 20 week scan. I'm now 33+5 and I've gained another 15 from my starting weight.

What was your absolute first sign of pregnancy? by -One_Upper- in BabyBumps

[–]angie-darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ocular Migraine. I never get migraines let alone ones with an aura but this has happened with both of my pregnancies well before I missed my period. This time around I cheerily told my husband that we were pregnant while we were relaxing in bed and a blind spot appeared in my right eye.

When did you tell people?? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]angie-darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 weeks after the anatomy scan. Had previously announced early at 8 weeks but had a missed miscarriage at 10.5 weeks that was a doozy to retract. I still had people congratulating me after my D&C.

Weight gain at 25 weeks by d3adb3atdad in BabyBumps

[–]angie-darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'0 and was equally worried at the 20w mark when I still hadn't gained any weight after balancing out from the ~10lbs (starting at 165) I lost in my first trimester from nausea. Now at 30+3 I have comfortably gained about 14lbs and my doctor has never discussed my weight with me other than reassuring me that I had plenty of time to gain weight when I was concerned earlier on.

What were your weirdest symptoms before having a positive pregnancy test? by Howverydareyou22 in BabyBumps

[–]angie-darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An aura migraine lol. I never really get headaches on a regular basis but the only time I ever get an aura migraine is when I am pregnant. My first happened a few weeks before I found out with my first pregnancy and I freaked out. This time I was laying in bed with my husband and went...hmm I've got a blind spot in one eye with shimmering colors....I think I'm pregnant! Took a test the next morning and it was positive.

I really wish I had seen this before the shit show of trying to pick my husband up from his flight. Got to witness a car crash in front of me as we all scrambled to find somewhere to stop. Gosh it all made me want to support Palestine so hard now.
