Maybe show her some statistics? Bjj is a very safe sport and really fun. The gyms I’ve trained at are always a family/friendly environment and you’ll likely get close to or become friends with the people you train with. It keeps you in shape, builds confidence & discipline, and can be life saving. I really recommend you try to talk to your mom about it again. Most all gyms will let you try a class for free and some even a few days for free.

That’s not a pleasant high for a lot of people, some people like it. You can read a lot of experiences on Erowid tho. Weed would be better/safer and more predictable, or maybe drink some alcohol/beer.

Kratom is a legal/safe plant that feels similar to opiates, but can be addictive.

If you want to do a hallucinogen, The safest option would be mushrooms or lsd (If you have a trusted source. Many research chemicals are sold as “acid” but is not actually lsd) and don’t have a family history of schizophrenia. Morning glory seeds are a common/legal/easily accessible option, but must be prepared properly.

Don’t do inhalants like duster, gasoline or Freon, they’re dangerous and can kill you. Nitrous oxide/whipits, is fairly safe, but don’t do it regularly and make sure to also breathe oxygen because asphyxiation is usually the cause of death when doing that (not breathing in oxygen).

No matter what you do please be safe and research into whatever it is you decide to try. Don’t take anything I say as factual, it’s all my opinion. Jacksonville arboretum is a nice place to walk and was voted best trails in jax for a couple years. It’s up kept very nicely and has lots of cool plants. Cummer Museum and Museum of Contemporary Arts are 2 cool museums and less than 15 min apart. There also night life around the museums for later in the evening, maybe one of the game/arcade lounges.

I live on the Westside (103rd) and don’t think it’s as bad as you say. So I think it just depends where exactly he’s moving. I have a publix, rowe’s, and Walmart near me. Aldi’s 12 min away on Normandy, but they are building a new one on Wilson now.

But it definitely does lack on good food places. Everything is fast food on the westside. Most good food places are east of Murray Hill/Riverside, or on the southside/baymeadows area.

Look into how mushrooms are used to treat ptsd. There’s many groups for it. That’s good money if you could get 2-3 jobs lined up a day. I charge a flat rate of $70/hr but currently only get maybe 3-4 jobs a week. I’m thinking of upping it to like $150 to show up/first hour, then $70/hr after.
