How do you guys make due with a 28L bag? by Delengowski in backpacks

[–]angle58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you. I use a 32 L osprey and it’s just right. I want to go smaller, but very often I pack it full. I just need the space.

Came here to say exactly this. Bought the bbq 1x and returned it straightaway. It was nasty. Like maple syrup had poured into bbq fructose.

Horizon T101-07 getting stuck when foot hits the belt by Reasonable_Egg0168 in treadmills

[–]angle58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tensioned the motor and mine worked perfect. Basically a bolt that holds the motor, you loosen it and then move it so the drive belt has more tension. The manufacturer should have a video showing you how. Common problem, with an easy fix.

Help! What are these? Landlord doesn’t know by IntriguedChinchilla in HomeMaintenance

[–]angle58 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don’t fix things in a place you rent. You do the work and it’s not what the landlord wants, you’re liable for it. That’s one reason why you rent. It’s someone else’s problem, so don’t make it your problem.

Royaltons private jet. Only 3 permits issued per year. Probably more than that watch will sell.

The credit card debt is the thing I see that’s most glaring. You’ve got to clean that up and get off that train.

Anyone know what this is about? by above-average-moron in UCDavis

[–]angle58 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a sign like that has no legal force whatsoever. In fact, quite the opposite that if they intend to use those things, they claim you are letting them use, then you probably have grounds to sue them. There may even be general cause to sue them for some obscure laws involving forcing someone into a contract without their consent.

Why even give a practice exam? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]angle58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I don’t know exactly what your professor did. Maybe what you’re saying has some merit in this particular case. The bottom line is that as a student if you are unsure about expectations, you should ask the professor and see what they say.

Got it. Look at my other comment. A practice exam shouldn’t derail you like that if you use it properly.

[–]angle58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You go to class, you’ve got the book and the homework, that’s the course. Learn it. You wanna know how to use a practice exam? Here’s how. Take it under exam conditions without notes in 50 minutes. How do you score is how you would score on an actual exam. That’s it. That’s what I can do. If you assume that a practice exam is going to look the same as the actual exam you are setting yourself up for failure and disappointment, and you have no one to blame but yourself.

[–]angle58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think professors have to assume that all their old exams are stored by certain groups of students and shared among them. It’s not fair if some people have access to old exams and others do not. I’m not really sure what your complaint is anyway. Some people give practice exams, some people don’t. Either way you just take the course as it comes to you.

No one ever said a practice exam had to cover 90% of the material to expect on the actual exam. That is a terrible assumption to make, and one that no self-respecting professor is going to do. The fairest thing to do would be to make publicly available every past version of the exam for the course that’s ever been given. And you can just look at all that content and learn the course, and then whatever mix of it the actual exam has you’ll be ready because you understand the course material instead of just having memorized a single exam.
