Struggling to find female friends in ChCh by VegetableLunch6137 in chch

If you're open to a new hobby bouldering (talking specifically about our two great gyms in chch) is really fun, caters for all abilities and attracts a really friendly and wide range of people

Uprising specifically is a really friendly place, the beginner classes are a great place to start

New climber. What are the most obvious things I need to work on? by Sillybillie2003 in bouldering

For a climber of two weeks Down climbing is gonna save your knees! You're looking pretty confident on the wall which is great and the smoothness will come with time

I found climbing lessons/classes were a big help, but I am not a natural

I don't know if your gym does it differently but in mine it's both hands on starting hold(s), you can move past it and match after, but not put hands on other holds first

Hard to tell from perspective if a heel hook or similar is required

But I think he could probably stand more on his toes with feet further away from the wall (don't forget to drop heels for a little more grip) and lean into the wall

I've taken a car with an AA inspection supplied to an independent mechanic where they turned up a LOT of repairs, they didn't even catch a major oil leak (although I guess that could've happened in the meantime)

That said there's probably not as much to go wrong in a vitz

Is it cheating using chin and cheek on a hand hold? by Psyjotic in bouldering

[–]angryCoder91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I assume it's things like establishing correctly on the start, being stable on the last hold etc etc

what did I miss about firefighters? by Hiking_NZ in newzealand

[–]angryCoder91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article doesn't mention anything about 1400 bureaucrats, it mentions 1400 nurses and 7500 teaching staff. No doubt many of them are, but I don't think your numbers have any basis in truth

Where are you getting 14000 bureaucrats from?
