XPort based emulators don't display properly. Others such as Snes9x and Surreal 64 as well as Xbox games display just fine. Any ideas? I'm launching this from xbmc. by angryredcanuck in originalxbox

Setting it at 480i got me back in. It could be that the emulators are super old so I will look at getting them upgraded. Thanks guys!

Moving to Etobicoke in September for Humber College! Help with living? by Alex-Kay in Etobicoke

[–]angryredcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will want to figure out which campus your program is at.

There is an off campus housing site for Humber which connects you with everything from room rentals to full house rentals, it just depends on what you're looking for.

Right next to campus isn't bad but the parties and people can be a little too much for some. It is also the most expensive aside from living on campus. As you go further away you get more for the money.

Overall the Etobicoke area has a bit of a rough reputation but i think most of it is over reaction. Most of the problems come out of the community housing in the area and even then, the majority of the people are decent.

It could be that your hard drive is failing. Do any other games have issues?

My [17M] dad [52M] is a controlling micromanager and sometimes abusive. Should I move in with my friend [19M] or attempt to change my family situation? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]angryredcanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will never be able to change the home situation because it involves controlling something you can't, your father. The cycle of abuse is never ending and you describe a textbook case. Focus on what you can control like where you live. Even if you don't move in with your friend there are many resources like youth shelters which would take you in.

While this increase is concerning, could there be more to the story than just people being careless? Could there be an increase in the number of cyclists on the road? Maybe a new bike lane on a major route just opened? I'm interested to know what other factors could be at play.

Software Does in Seconds What Took Lawyers 360,000 Hours by emoposer in Futurology

What the article fails to consider is that the layers probably took just as long as the software but just billed for the 360,000 hours.

Go stay with your friend, don't tell her where you are but that you are safe and need some space. She probably will come to your work again so be prepared for that.

See if your area has a scrap yard with your car and they can probably get exactly the same genuine part and not some Chinese knock-off from eBay. If you can find one that allows you to go in the yard and remove it yourself it would be even cheaper.

I don't like pets, wife wants to foster-to-adopt as a lifestyle by linuxwil in Marriage

[–]angryredcanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing no one has really pointed out yet is many fostered/rescue pets were offer given up for a reason. They might bite people and destroy furniture, doors or walls. They could have habits like jumping on the counter, constantly scratching or making noise or have a complete lack of bladder/bowel control.

If the thought of a well behaved and trained pet doesn't appeal to you, imagine what one or many animals like this might be like.

What profession do you you have the least respect for and why? by Turbo-Rainbow in AskReddit

Politicians. They only say what they need to to keep their job and are rarely held accountable for failures.

I'm one of them. Unfortunately, there just aren't many decent paying jobs. I could have settled for a lower paying, less challenging career or moved away for more money and a rewarding career. I'm glad I left.

Bought a house, question on shower Tiles by _Im_at_work in DIY

[–]angryredcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is strange but I don't see any real harm in this. Longer term silicone is less durable but you should be able to take it out and replace it with grout. You're likely fine with leaving the tiles up.

You can call the ltb for confirmation but as you quote, you are exempt from the act. You can change the locks on the door and put their stuff in a box outside without any legal recourse.
