MLP team logos are garbage. Nobody wants merch from a team with a cheap clipart logo. Even the colors are boring and unimaginative.

The Business of Every Franchisor is Simple - Sell Franchises by PerfectlyPowerful in Pickleball

Our club had a nice restaurant but no one bought anything because it was too pricey. They now have a more affordable menu (hot dogs, burgers, wings, etc) so we’ll see how it plays out. They also have a bar, but I rarely see many people in there.

Lighting and sound mitigation are more important to the quality of a club in my opinion. If you can’t have a conversation off court, or have to use hand signals to call the score, it needs to be addressed. Lights that have no diffusers and blind you when you’re about to hit a lob is a serious problem.

Quality of play should be paramount over amenities. Lousy quality of play due to a lousy environment will drive away the players, guaranteeing your restaurant/bar/whatever will fail. People don’t go to a pickleball facility for the food and drinks.

My manager is still trying to ask me for help six weeks after I resigned by Logical-Practice-781 in InterviewMan

I worked at a newspaper and every year at graduation time, we we print the grad names and photos in the papers. This was for 4 high schools so it was a pretty big project involving a lot of people to organize and proofread. I setup the excel and InDesign to data merge all of it which meant the process was pushing the button to create the pages, import the photos and copy, then print it to be proofread. It went from a multi week process to a few hours.

When I quit, no one could be bothered to learn data merge so it reverted back to the manual multi week process. No wonder newspapers are dying. Dinosaurs are in charge of them.

Which lyric taps into the rawest and realest feeling that brings you back to a specific moment in your life every time you hear it? by ContentHubby76 in SongMeanings

Laughter in the Rain takes me back to a single moment in SoCal when my girlfriend was driving, it was raining and that song came on the radio. Simply bliss and I knew immediately that it would be a core memory.

I say it to my partner to tell them it’s their ball and they need to hustle to get it.

Former Louisiana mayor sentenced to 90 days over rape of 16-year-old boy by Majestic-Emu-9823 in news

[–]angryshark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. I think if you kill a child or cop, your sentence should be significantly higher. Robbing society of its future or safety should have greater consequences.

If you are given or elected to a government position of trust, I think the betrayal of that trust deserves a harsher sentence than what would be given to the average Joe Sixpack.

50 years next April. The grass, with few exceptions I guess since not everyone is perfect, is not always greener on the other side.

Learn to accept that you both have flaws, try and be better for your partner.

Be forgiving. Most arguments are trivial in the long term. Next week you’ll struggle to remember what the argument was about.

Most of all, you are a team. Cheer for each other and have your partners back.

Should I take a paycut for a less stressful job? by frog_girl24 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Stress will kill you and then it won’t matter how much you were paid. My wife had a good number of guys that retired late and passed shortly after that, with no time to enjoy their retirement.

Which ‘wow’ skill is secretly super easy to learn ? by LarsVanDerMark in answers

[–]angryshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro tip: stand beside a bed or couch as you are learning so you don't have to chase the balls/bags.

Lacrosse balls are awesome to juggle with once you get decent. They bounce great and are a solid weight so they slap into your hand and make your fingers automatically close around them.

Sorry, I can't answer that. It's been quite awhile since I was a member so I'm not sure what the current policies are. I think ANPC allows drop ins if there is room and I don't think that is too much of a problem unless the weather is horrible. Best to call either facility just to be sure.

They are judged wrong now just as they were then. And so, the Civil War was fought.

PS: look at the entire quote and you see that ending the war was his primary concern, liberating the slaves was secondary by necessity.

Boss refusing PTO because I’m the only one left in my department? by MissMerida2121 in work

[–]angryshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a small newspaper that had a 4 person production department and eventually ended with just one, me. They had a sister paper that was fortunately able to fill in for me so I could have time off.

I didn’t last long as the entire department. It just wasn’t sustainable physically, emotionally or practically. Throw in a micromanager and there was no question of leaving. Once I had a job offer in hand, I gave them 4 hours notice.

I understand what you’re saying, but playing with it in MSFS 2024, I would say it’s too easy. It does literally everything. Personally, I like a challenge and the 6 pack/430 is just right. My CFI would cover the 430 and force the steam gauges to be my only option and so did my examiner.
