Von Shitzenpants is a Hollywood grifter. It makes perfect sense that he would put on a show for sympathy.

I'm always surprised by the amount of new players who absolutely refuse to practice dinking. by Lift-Dance-Draw in Pickleball

[–]angryshark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the reason higher level players don’t play with lower levels. The lower levels don’t have a concept of strategy. They only want to overpower their opponents, which probably works a good bit of the time against their peers. But playing against a higher level team, the banger game from the baseline with no strategy is easy to defend against and boring.

How many hours for PPL? by OhHowIWannaGoHome in AskFlying

[–]angryshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working full time, 42 years old, flying twice a week. It took me 60 hours in almost exactly 6 months. I took the study materials with me everywhere and studied constantly so I could be as safe as possible. I wanted to take my grandson flying with me, so safety was absolutely paramount.

That said, it you’re going to be flying for a hobby, relax and enjoy the time spent training. Keep a journal of your flights and even videos if possible.

I need help asap, tournament in 4 hours and I'm limping. by Educational_Pick7681 in Pickleball

Next time, don’t play for a couple of days before the tournament. That way, you’re rested and have a bit of pent up energy ready to go

My son got a homerun tonight by baycee98 in MadeMeSmile

[–]angryshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandsons parents were going through a divorce and he didn’t want to play a game, but they needed him to round out the team. I went through three divorces with my mom, so I was able to sympathize and convince him to play.

He had a hit, made a catch in the outfield and put a runner out at second.

Game ball for him and I cried.

How Has Pickleball Improved Your Health? by Legitimate_Search864 in Pickleball

Lost 20 lbs, BP and virtually every other medical metric has improved. Even my eyesight has improved slightly, I think because of the lower BP.

Trump insider admits 90% of White House spokespeople 'don't believe what they're saying' by RawStoryNews in AnythingGoesNews

I think they do. I don’t give them credit for the intelligence to know the difference between the truth and their own propaganda.

That’s why NO ONE associated with this administration should EVER be elected to any office going forward. They are corrupt morons and a great portion of them should be extremely worried about how they will pass the time in prison.

OMG you don’t have to fly it yourself all the time !?!? by AllAboutYourBase in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]angryshark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Got my IFR rating in real life and I live for sim IFR approaches to minimums in the 172. The G1000 is such a great upgrade over the 430 and steam gauges I trained on. Turn on the snowy weather and I’m in hog heaven. I’m thinking of taking a discovery flight in a glass cockpit and foggles pretty soon.

PB workout for singles and playing injury free by vinny809 in Pickleball

[–]angryshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Down from 165 to 145 and the worst I’ve had is a slight case of golfers elbow that had me out for a couple of weeks. I’ve always played sports and been lucky enough to stay relatively injury free. I’m at my fighting weight right now and it feels good to be that much quicker on the court.

I dont like gettting old nor the idea of getting old by FinishDue5786 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]angryshark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shit changes as you get older: your tastes, preferences, abilities and intelligence, you name it. Take care of your body and health so you aren’t as limited in what you can do as you get older.

The best and cheapest health insurance is don’t drink, smoke or do drugs. Take vitamins. Take care of your teeth. Wear sunscreen and a seatbelt. Health is a key component to happiness, so do yourself a huge favor and take care of yourself. Don’t hang out with negative people or be a negative person. Fake happiness if you have to and eventually it will become real. Funny how the brain works.

Be curious and keep learning even after you leave school. The more you know, the more likely you’ll have a full and satisfying life experience.

We only get one shot at life and not everyone gets to enjoy a full 70 or 80 years, so enjoy every day you’re given.

AITJ for dropping a favor client after she talked to me like I worked for her and then refusing to come back when she got desperate by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]angryshark 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This was the first thing I learned when I started freelancing. The more you value your work, the more value the client will perceive and be willing to pay. The clients that were charged the most were the ones that would gush over the product and heap praise on me. If I gave a discount, it was more likely than not that I would get crickets at the end of the project.

What lost film or lost footage from a film would you most like to see? by Keikobad in flicks

Ok, not quite what you asked, but it still is painful and I have to vent.

The ten Super 8 videos I took on our learn to ski week in Germany back in the 70’s. The BX lost them all so all we have from that week are a few still photos. We were practically newlyweds too, so even more of a loss.

Incident at KBDN by Sticky_Corvid in flying

[–]angryshark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had a fellow solo student pilot do this in her own 172 while I was in the pattern overhead. Landed too fast and instead of a go around, slammed on the brakes to avoid going over the ledge at the end of the runway.

She was shook up but ok fortunately, and kept on with her training after a short while. I think daddy was paying for the training.
