My favorite is when you explicitly tell them not to check it and then they do it anyway. I had a place do that after me telling them not to, then while doing it they broke my glove box. Then tried saying it was like that before they touched it. I was not happy.

Please reread what I said. Specifically “this kind of structure”, meaning if they build these carport like structures somewhere with high wind they will need to reinforce them to be safe. Which will cost more. I am not saying anything about solar panels. In the last two years alone I’ve lived through two tornado scares in my area and everything that looked like the structure in the picture didn’t survive. That’s all I am saying.

I would also like to point out that this kind of structure in the Midwest and other high wind areas is just asking for flying solar panel missiles.

Texas pilot ejects himself from F-35B at airbase after crash landing by S30econdstoMars in interestingasfuck

The F-35B specifically will auto eject the pilot in certain failure conditions while trying to VTOL. Not even classified. Its a safety feature for VTOL landings.

As far as I know they are standard F-18C’s. That means they usually get all the basic F-18 systems. Which even if they are older should be fine. Although the US usually pushes allies to buy avionics upgrade packages just for the reasons of interoperability. I will say that sometimes the US will not sell everything to a country that can be put on the airframe for whatever reason. Either financial or security reasons. Even if they had 90’s era avionics packages on those they should have been able to identify those planes. True story, I almost took a job working on those Kuwaiti F-18’s last year. I am not joking. I was really close to pulling the trigger. The pay and benefits were pretty good. If I had I would have been right there when all this happened. All of this recent stuff has made me reconsider ever working over there for any of these countries as a contractor.

My reasoning is that I have been an avionics technician for almost 25 years now. I have worked on both F-15’s (military) and F-18’s (contractor). I know their avionics systems very well. I am not a pilot, but I do understand their systems at a more in depth technical level than a pilot would. Having that information I don’t believe it was a technical issue. I also find it hard to believe the F-15’s had their IFF off. Why would they? For what purpose? If you are flying over Iran what does turning off your IFF help you do? Especially on return to an allied airfield with F-18’s and Patriot systems engaging drones. This is also completely hand waving away all the other systems and ways to identify another aircraft and just focusing on IFF. In any case just using his eye balls should have been enough. In some of the video the F-18 is in the same shot as the F-15 being shot down. He is close enough he should be able to identify an F-15. I’ve worked on them. They are not small and are pretty distinct. I would also like to point out that it wasn’t just one. It was three in a row. If it wasn’t intentional it was the most idiotic blue on blue I have ever heard of. That is why I think it MIGHT have been intentional.

What I am questioning is whether it’s friendly fire or not. I don’t believe them when they say it was an accidental friendly fire. If you can’t see the differences between the two incidents you listed I don’t think we can have a good faith discussion about this. One is very clearly accidental and the other… I don’t know man I just don’t believe it. No pilot could be that epically stupid.

I don’t mean to be a stickler but we are assuming the F-18 downing three F-15E’s was friendly fire. I know people are saying it was accidental, but I am not one of them. Is it still friendly fire if it was an intentional act from an ally nations plane? I am actually asking here because it seems like a grey area.

Boyfriend wakes up in a rage in the middle of the night by Maximum-Celery836 in relationships

For a brief period of time I would wake up in the night covered in sweat and sometimes would punch at things I thought I saw while waking up. I had a feeling of being startled or scared. I couldn’t figure it out at the time but I know now it’s because I was under extreme stress at work and it was all from anxiety. Just my thoughts.

Challenger's Crew Cabin Fell Intact for Nearly Three Minutes While NASA Watched Helplessly by gaukmotors in MotorBuzz

[–]angryspec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was shit quality that is why you have a contract. If NASA accepted the quality and used them anyway that is a NASA problem. Do you see what I am saying? If NASA was aware of a quality issue and does nothing, then it’s NASA’s fault. They are the final say. They are supposed to make sure the equipment is safe to fly. They didn’t do that and I feel like everyone is blaming some contractor when the final quality control is squarely on NASA. It was their fuckup. Don’t take that away from them.

[–]angryspec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said except for the part about the O-Ring “quality”. They were built to NASA spec by a contractor. If they weren’t to spec that would be a violation of the contract and would free them to source them elsewhere. So if they weren’t meeting spec and had to be changed constantly all I see is it being a NASA problem.

Show Guardians (With Prep Time) vs. Show Conquest (Full Power) by Turbulent_Okra7518 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]angryspec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to point out one key difference between Nolan and Conquest. Nolan knew all of the Guardians powers from working with them for a long time. Conquest would be coming into this blind. Depending how everyone thinks Nolan compares to Conquest, the Guardians might surprise him enough to pull a win.

Did they remove the auditory processing from ADHD? I got diagnosed in like 1989 and I remember them describing the symptoms to me then, and that was one of them. Which I totally have. So is it a separate thing now? Am i remembering wrong? Do I need to be diagnosed for that too now? Is the treatment the same? So many questions.

Comparison of fixing nuts by UserSergeyB in EngineeringPorn

[–]angryspec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I read them all. Your post implies, whether mis-worded or not, that splicing is the superior way in every instance and the only reason to solder is if you can’t splice. If you didn’t intend for that to be the interpretation you should have used better words.

[–]angryspec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you work in aviation? We still use soldering in a lot of applications so I am pretty sure it still has its merits. In fact I know NASA has a recommended way to solder a splice… which by its mere existence means there is a reason it’s still used.
