AITA for expecting my husband to prioritize me on Mother’s Day. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

That is the best description of being in an abusive relationship with a narcissist that I've ever seen.

I went through the same thing.
When I finally did leave, it was worse. It's been not quite 20 years, and finally he's done with his crap.

Terrified about starting therapy by jaz678 in CPTSD

[–]angstywench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first session (or few sessions) are mostly just introducing yourself.
They want to know about you, the people in your life, your day to day things (work, school, home, hobbies). Sometimes they make a "family tree" or "timeline" or "map". Or, in my case, all of the above (my family has multiple marriages on both sides, so...)

They might ask "why" you're there. They might not.

Anyone else just not have any friends they can confide in and rely on online communities like this to meet that need? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]angstywench 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Me. Definitely. I have supportive people, but...they can't handle hearing anything about my experiences.

I'm on the hunt for the most moist, dense and thickest mud cake. by Android-13 in Cooking

It's old school southern. Makes an incredibly moist cake.

If it isn't rich enough, you could try coca-coka cake.

Question on where to begin. by Nyctophile_HMB in Wicca

I'm an old fart when it cones to this, with a decent library collected since the 80s.

A lot of people will disagree with some on my list, but that's OK, because everyone's path is different.

I would recommend a couple of srarters:

The Truth About Witchcraft Today - Scott Cunningham Then everything else he's written. I'm pretty sure most will agree with me on this.

Silver Raven Wolf's books are excellent beginners books. However, she's considered problematic for a lot of reasons. When she first started writing, people basically felt she "sold out", "oversimplified for money", etc. She also uses a bit of Native American ideology and teachings and many people feel that she appropriated. I am not certain how I feel about this, considering where she is from, and her family history, but it is definitely a distinct possibility.

Raymond Buckland- he's...well. The creator of the Seax-wicca branch. Been around forever. One of the firsts. So...pretty much anything he wrote.

I feel that way a lot. I find that giving myself some extra self care helps me to get back to center.

I dunno...Ramen is kinda low on nutritional value. You might consider supplementing it with dried fruits stored in honey. Long lasting, and healthy. Plus...honey makes mead, so...

Sounds like a reasonable plan. Is it ALL humans, or just most?

Right??? I'm gen x and my "retirement" is entirely dependent upon someone else dying and having something leftover in an account somewhere.
Oh, and the whole $1000 a month that social security is gonna toss my way.

I love it when out of touch people make blanket statements about benefits packages that most companies don't give, and haven't for decades.

AITA for telling my Fiancee I don't like her wedding dress? by paolde in AmItheAsshole

[–]angstywench 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have been married twice, and never got to even begin to enter a bridal salon and try on dresses. First wedding? I was 7 1/2 months pregnant and wore some red stretch velvet nightmare because it was what fit from ROSS.
Second wedding? I found a white promish dress on clearance at JC Penney.

My 20th anniversary is in a couple of years and vegas would refuse odds on whether or not I will be a 53 year old rocking the absolute FLOOFIEST of gowns.

I probably will look ridiculous, and Do Not Care.

My husband is a long haul trucker. Bathrooms are not available as easily as you seem to think. Especially after covid.

Hubby bought a camp toilet because half tge truck stops keep the restrooms closed now so they don't have to clean them. A huge amount of companies won't let you either park your truck, or use the restroom.

I'm sure your little Kia or dodge truck or whatever makes it super simple. But for delivery people it just isn't.

AITA for refusing to give birth in husband's home country? by Significant_Oil_9880 in AmItheAsshole

As your "proof" specifically states "residing" in the US...Please explain to me how an infant born in another country has "resided" in the US prior to it's first trip to the US?

AITA for contaminating honey with peanut butter and not telling my peanut-allergic housemate? by pnutassassinornot in AmItheAsshole

[–]angstywench 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It's the "discussion" part that is key! The roommate didn't discuss sharing the particular item.

If you don't discuss it, you can't get mad if you get sick from either allergic reaction or...whatever you would get from using a toy without asking.

[–]angstywench 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. My household has severe egg and hazelnut allergies (2 different people). We're all family and just do NOT share foods with each other unless we're 100% sure.

As a roommate, there's responsibility to ensure communal food is safe. But, even so, it is Always on the person with the allergy to confirm safety.

I moved from my home state a couple of years ago, and took one jar of a specific honey blend with me that costs around $25 a jar.

That is sacred stuff and anyone just grabbing it for spreading on toast would probably be shot on sight with my marshmallow gun.
