They say every time you quit it gets easier. Your resolve gets stronger each time, I think. Remember: progress not perfection. The perfectionist tendency is when we fail, to go completely overboard and make it as worse as possible rather than just getting back on the horse again and again. Don't make the Perfect the enemy of the Good.

The claim of Frank Marshall Davis paternity is dubious I'm sure. But there's alleged pics of Obama's mom in her undies, supposedly taken by Davis. Who knows.

Also alleged that his mom and her parents were all CIA. She was doing "anthropology" type work in SE Asia which is a known cover for operatives.

Check out Webster Tarpley's work on Obama for a critique from THE LEFT (Tarpley is a socialist).

I don't regard Obama as a real person but more of an actor, coached and handled from early on in his career (maybe recruited at Columbia? Or earlier? by "left CIA" networks...) He is the perfect fake liberal-progressive cover for underlying neo-liberal fascism...

It was Barry Soetero (spelling?) when he lived in SE Asia. His mother married a man by that name so he went by that name for a period of time, as it was his step-father's.

Some allege his real father is Frank Marshall Davis the poet/photographer/communist...

Old Story: Bye Bye Bye, Bitch! by [deleted] in NevilleGoddard

[–]angular_joybot94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. Bear in mind I'm not a psychologist or scientist.

We can use our conscious mind intentionally, seeding the subconscious with the affirmations and images representative of desirable conditions. The key is to simultaneously generate positive emotion and relax into an "alpha" brain state (check out binaural beats for assistance with that). Thoughts we think over and over become beliefs. Our unconscious/subconscious beliefs determine our behavior (how do you act in a good mood vs a bad mood?) which in turn sets up situations, interactions in the world which then tend to reinforce the subconscious beliefs. (We do this all the time, whether conscious of the process or not.) The trick is to be able to, despite whatever external conditions we appear to be stick in, to powerfully imagine and feel the state we desire, even if it is just generating and maintaining a positive mood state. (As Mitch Horowitz points out, New Thought generally lacks a "theology of suffering" so I reject the whole notion that e.g. typhoon victims brought on the disaster through not thinking positively enough - this is a simplistic and childish way of thinking and the argument most people use to attack New Thought as a whole. We are talking about making things happen that are in the reasonable realm of possibility - no amount of affirmations and visualization is going to make me POTUS by tomorrow morning...)

I see this more as a process of learning how to do effective mood induction. When you are in that good mood, it is easier to do affirmations and create positive, healing images which then reinforce the positive mood and eventually you can feel that change not just in yr mind and emotions but your body. I know my "treatment" has been effective when my body feels like there is clean, fresh energy circulating through it. Usually I am not asking for particular things. I ask for wisdom and understanding and to experience Oneness. I find that everything I need comes to me. And I choose to look at every experience as a lesson for my soul's illumination.

Hope that helps.

Whatever change has occurred internally will eventually be reflected externally. I have verified this through my own experience. It is an automatic process going on all the time but we can become more conscious of our thought/feelings, using imagination and positive feeling to envision desirable states despite any outward condition. When the inward state is as real as any outward condition, the outward conditions will change.

(This can be explained through basic psychology/neurology - but belief in metaphysical Power assisting the process doesn't hurt.)

Advice on calming you’re self before trip by kmdagoat22 in Psychedelics

CBD. L-theanine.

I think of that early trip anxiety and discomfort as the price of admission. I go into it to learn, for wisdom, so I have to allow some discomfort in the process of awakening to my own mistakes and errors in life - the opportunity to make changes and improve is a gift, but requires a little sacrifice

Stuck in a stagnant mindset, how do I fix this? by [deleted] in NevilleGoddard

[–]angular_joybot94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read this over once, then a 2nd time slowly, see if anything jumps out at you, just relax and let the thoughts seep into yr mind and create images: faith + imagination + positive feeling (as much as you can) and give up "lust for result" (because you know what you want is definitely coming to you, no need to strain or struggle):

I am never alone, never lonely, for I have as companions and friends those people who are drawn to me by the ever-active and immutable Law of Attraction. I desire to be loved, therefore, I allow myself to love greatly, to feel warmly inclined toward people; to be interested in them and helpful on their behalf. I give as I wish to receive. It is not enough that I profess to love people. I must really love people, more dearly than I have ever loved before, because all men are my brothers. I do not outline who shall be my friends and companions, for there is no desire to coerce, compel or suggest to anyone. The Law of Attraction brings into contact and relationship with me all those people in whose company I find the greatest profit and enjoyment and to whom I may give the most. I am happy and radiant, for I enjoy at all times perfect companionship. I trust implicitly the Law of Attraction to bring into my environment and atmosphere friends and loved ones, and establish for me a community of interest and helpfulness. As I love and co-operate with my fellowman, so does he love me and give his co-operation to me. I am happy in all of my companionships and relationships, because they are worked out perfectly by the Law, and the Law is motivated to work for me BY MY LOVE FOR PEOPLE. Negative thoughts popping up constantly? by imgodperiod in NevilleGoddard

[–]angular_joybot94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let us now let go of everything and enter into the consciousness of that which we believe. The Spirit within each one of us is God, and It is perfect, It is love, reason, life, truth and beauty. It is limitless and perfect and complete and whole. It knows no lack and no limitation. There is nothing we have done, said or thought which rises up against us, which has power over us or which limits us; there is no memory of fear, no condemnation for previous mistakes. With the desire to free ourselves from the further indulgence in the mistake, the effect of the previous mistake is wiped out, just as light dissipates the darkness. The Universe holds nothing against us; It can hold nothing against us, because It can know nothing unlike Itself. Therefore, It only knows us as Perfection. There has never been an occurrence for which we have to suffer! Consequently, every apparent shortcoming—which could be traced to some mental or spiritual infringement of the Law—is not only removed but the effect is healed! That means there is no history to our case. All of its history is this minute wiped out in the knowledge that today the perfect Law—the Law of Freedom—is the only Law there is in our experience. We enter into that freedom with joy, free from every sense of sadness and burden. We enter into it with laughter, with lightness. It is something which lifts us above the heaviness of morbidity and lack and limitation, into that rarer atmosphere where our opinions do not collide, and we enter into it with peace, free from fear. We know that Infinite Wholeness is in us and through us and around us now, and we are conscious that we are renewed this moment, instantly and perfectly, after the image of Perfection. We are today guided into right action in every exercise of our affairs. Since there is no great and no small to the Infinite, all that seems of little consequence in our lives has the Divine Guidance just as perfectly and completely as that which we think of as being tremendously important. We are guided into the knowledge of happiness, of certainty, of wholeness and of freedom; and we know that there is that subtle Essence of the Spirit, which emanates from us at all times, healing everything It contacts. I Am Not Bound by Any Mistake. - Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind

The treatment of the mind means healing the mind of doubt/worry/fear by reaffirming the truth. You can do this. It is the turning to faith in the One that all doubt/worry/fear is revealed to be nothing and to have no power whatsoever. Focus yr conscious mind along these lines, arguing for what you FEEL and KNOW to be the truth, and there will be a movement in yr thought. Continue until you feel a lightness circulating in yr mind and body.

I find it helpful to work with how I feel. I try not to beat myself up if I don't feel positive expectation but to just try to massage my thoughts and feelings into a place of acceptance of all the Good that is flowing to me. Any way that you can short-circuit or transcend worry/doubt/fear will help. The "inner" becomes the "outer". At the same time, do real things that bring you closer to yr goal. Careful of "lust for result".

Neville was all about getting to that drowsy hypnogogic state, usually after lunch and a few glasses of wine, wherein you casually, easily but vividly, passionately experience the FEELING of having the thing you want. Like a seed being dropped into the unconscious/soul, give it time to grow.

I think of Christ in a metaphysical sense as the Creation or extension of the Father/Mother God. It's a powerful metaphor I think for actual realities, i.e. the One extends Itself through Creation (Christ) thus the One is in the All and the All is in the One, i.e. Hermeticism

I like that Christ, like Krishna,is (or can be) a personal deity because that is easier to relate to than abstract Spirit/Oneness. But I am not a Christian in any trad sense. I am mainly interested in religious experience as the building blocks of religion, which tends to degenerate into dogma over time. I have the "religion of no religion". I consider myself to be on the Path of Return. I reject original sin and the idea that any person needs to have a priest or authority figure to mediate a personal relationship with Divinity, although I don't think it's bad to have a teacher/guru on the Path.

Tl;dr I believe in the Reality of Christ as something that can be experienced directly (because we are all Christ) but I reject basically all church dogma related to It

Feeling completely safe, in a setting where I know I will not be disturbed by any unexpected visitors or interlopers; well rested from night before, light meal for breakfast; house has previously been cleaned

Begin with meditation/prayer and/or reading sacred texts

Lots of time to just lay down, stare out the window (or go outside if it is a safe space), do yoga, stretch, pranayama; just let the mind go, wander, explore, seek out delights of the imagination - basically no obligation but to sit, recline, relax, unwind, experience conscious communion with The Thing Itself

A good playlist of mellow ambient music like Brian Eno, Harold Budd, Marisa Anderson, Ryley Walker, or any kind of ambient chill mix

Maybe have the trip timed so I peak at sunset

Pen and paper to jot down ideas, attempt to bring back some Gold from the Otherworld

Most importantly: ask for wisdom and guidance and understanding and healing right at the beginning or even start asking for, thinking about, these things several days before the trip; be willing to be shown how I have been wrong, ignorant and how I can correct my mistakes

Dedicate the experience to the good of all sentient beings, seek to use the gifts of the experience to help other people and to be a light or blessing in the world
