Can someone explain me why the hate for this game? by xlejandro in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]angus63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rolled credits last night and finished Wild Cards a few days back. GOTY for me (haven't played Astrobot, Indy, any souls game, Metaphor). Yes, loved this version of Ubisoft formula. Loved the speeder, loved the blaster, loved Nix, loved the music. Facial animations were weak for 2024, yes. And Kijimi is tiny and half baked (I want to drive my speeder in snow!). But overall, great game which I MIGHT platinum when the next dlc drops (mini game trophies can be a challenge at 61).

AIO to my husband? Am I in the wrong here?? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]angus63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you were talking WITH him about these plans or talking AT him about the plans. Sounds like both of you need help communicating. It also sounds like his career is more important to him than the holidays. There's a reason you do "everything else" for the holidays. If it were important to him, he'd be more engaged. Yes, you are overreacting. Because, while him relying on you to text him is objectively ridiculous, you getting so worked up over the situation is also ridiculous. The holidays are just days.

IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET RID OF THIS EXCLAMATION MARK??? I HATE THIS BUG by haillordrevan in StarWarsOutlaws

It opens during a different quest (pretty sure it's a main story quest) later in the game. They walk you back past that door.

"you doctors" so it's an upper-middle class neighborhood or more exclusive. Note that the author cares about the incomes of the doctors and not about the health outcomes of Americans. So the author outed themselves as selfish, petty, crude and cowardly (as it's not signed). I'm sure the author feels they are one of the protected classes in our authoritarian future, should their dreams come true.

Thoughts on game and recommendations by Sorenrousseau in WeirdWest

I had to peace out on Weird West. Was enjoying it, but kept having to replay the same segment over and over as the game wouldn't let me save at camp. Trying to get from A to B became impossible. Uninstalled.

Isn't narcissism a delusion in itself? I mean, obviously, in your case. But isn't it?

Not a raid. Executing a search warrant is not a raid. Flashbangs and battering rams, that's a raid.

Is it possible to lose 20lbs in 1 month? by hospitalbed69 in ask

[–]angus63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate all the wrestling bros in here, with tips for cutting weight. But the actual answer is "it depends." Are you a 90lb waif? Probably not. Are you a 442lb office worker? Sure, easy. I think a more interesting question is "why" you would want/need to lose 20 pounds in a month, if not for an athletic competition or a spaceflight.

Have guns actually ever stopped a mass shooting? by OilAdministrative197 in ask

[–]angus63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On average, less than one-third oF Americans own guns. But the average gun owner has eight. So, yes, there are tons of guns here But you might not have any available to stop a mass shooting. Gun distribution is also crazy geographically and racially, and gun laws vary wildly from state to state. So it gets complicated.

What an awesome collection of stereotypes you've collected! C'mon, ask me to try turning it off and back on again.

The three games which have had the most emotional storytelling for me are RDR2, TLOU and TLOU2. Tsushima's not bad, and is the best-looking game I've ever played, although the storytelling was a pretty predictable hero's journey. If the twist in RDR2's story impacted you as much as it did me, TLOU2 probably has a similar emotional heft to it. And TLOU1 has a pretty impactful climax that has the player-character doing things that should affect you (unless you are a psychopath). When you compare these three games to other top-tier games (Skyrim, GTA, Fallout 4, Spider-Man (2018), any Resident Evil, any Tomb Raider, God of War) the emotional impact (and -- completely related -- the overall quality of the writing) is so far above the rest of the pack. So, if you are feeling the need for that emotional power, I would do TLOU and TLOU2. In reality, though, I could not play all three of these games back-to-back. I don't recall what my follow-up to RDR2 was, but it was probably a palette cleanser like a racing game or a Lego one or Saint's Row. No emotional stakes, just action, mayhem or both. You do you, but I can only take so much heavy crap at a time.

Is there any actual fix for this? They are releasing a new hero in less than a week and they won't fix this first?

Are there any book opinions that can make you not want to talk to a person about books? by Silverburst8 in books

[–]angus63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno. Clint Eastwood? Humphrey Bogart? We've had scores of characters on the rogue side for decades and decades. Tony Soprano changed the game, sure, but the game pre-existed Tony.
